Guys into fitness/gym obsessed

AIBU to think that they wouldn't want an average woman who doesn't like the gym and doesn't have an interest in becoming seriously toned and fit?

Would I eventually worry that he was wanting someone fitter?

My DH was a gym rat when we met (still is) and I've never even been to a gym. Trust me gym guys don't really care if you go to the gym or not

Bizarrely many of the significant others of male PTs that I know are the antithesis of onterested by fitness

I'm the gym freak and I don't give a stuff about what my husband does (or doesn't, as the case is).

My husband is obsessed by fitness, gets twitchy if he doesn't work out or run every day - I haven't seen the inside of a gym for about 10 years and could stand to lose st least a stone.

So you never look at a really fit guy and wish you were with someone like him instead?

I'm insecure I know.

I'm a gym freak and the guy I'm dating definitely isnt, if anything he's a few pounds overweight. I like him because he's confident in himself and makes me laugh.

I go to the gym because I enjoy it and it makes me feel good in myself. I'd rather go out with somebody who was happy and confident and didn't have the slightest interest in fitness than somebody who hated it and was miserable but forced themselves to go.

It's less about tone, in my experience, than it is about enjoying the sporty activities they like. For example I'm not toned or fit and never have been but love rock climbing/hiking/biking and even though I'm not very good at it, as a reasonably attractive woman, it got me noticed a lot lol. All of my partners have been into sports/gym including my DH.

Agree that fitness oriented women tend to be with fitness oriented men but not necessarily the other way around.
All my previous partners and dh are v sporty - climbing, lifting, hockey, cycling, running....

Perhaps it simply refects the relative lack of sporty women : sporty men?

No, never. Fit boys aren't my type. I prefer bears.

My DP (soon to be DH) has 10% body fat, is a personal trainer and trains five times a week.

When we met I was a size 16, I'm now a size 18-20. I don't exercise at all.

Since he proposed to me as a size 18/20 I assume he's okay with it!

You can love the gym but find someone who doesn't attractive.

I know a guy who's a personal trainer and seriously ripped but he prefers girls who are 'cuddly' or a bit 'squishy' as he calls it.
