Normally a news junky but I can't keep up

And it's depressing

I just want Jed Bartlet to be President, not the mendacious eejit that has taken his seat

Make it all go away.....

Oh yes! I found myself searching for uplifting West Wing quotes yesterday in the hope it would make me feel better.....it didn't!

This was working for me until I got to season 5. Although bad west wing is still better than many other things and I know it gets better, but man I miss Sorkin.

I love the West Wing. Trump's press secretary is no CJ Cregg that's for sure Grin

I'm addicted to the whole Trump circus. I overload though then have to watch a couple of episodes of WW to give myself hope again.

I watched two episodes tonight (season 4). Can't work out whether it made me feel better or worse about real life!

I'm watching Season 4 again, and remembering that he covered up the MS relapse and ordered an assassination. But yes, still better...

Season 5.

Hahaha I'm glad I'm not the only one. As soon as Trump won the election I started working my way through the boxset again.

It is always reasonable to watch the West Wing.

I have lost count of the number of times I've watched it.

I'd settle for Vinick in preference to Trump. A Republican with principles!

I almost preferred Vinick to Smug Santos. Is that bad? And not just because he's Hawkeye...

We did that the other day. We just had to "detox" with the last episode ("Tomorrow"). We wanted to see a genuinely classy inauguration. I think i might just mainline some more soon. SadAngry

Hooked after episode 1 so binge watched all 7 seasons last year- 3 or 4 episodes at a time. Bartlet, a president with principles - followed by Jimmy Smits. Yum

Started to rewatch Season 7 on the night of the Inauguration. It's my TV version of comfort food!

I didnt know that pardoning the turkey is a real thing until I saw President Obama doing it and cracking awful jokes!

I'm with you! TWW is worth re watching at any time, but right now it feels essential.

I put the news on in the morning & almost always chase it with an episode of the west wing

This is the ethos I am also living under ...

'Let Bartlet be Bartlet!'

I have found it interesting to re-watch 20 years on, post Trump. For example the episodes where Josh creates NAFTA and immediately all the programming jobs are moved to India. He complains 'those weren't the jobs that were meant to be lost!'

It was supposed to be sheet metal workers etc - josh planned for them to 're-train'.

Interesting to watch now knowing that that very agreement signed by Clinton is one of the big drivers that led to President Trump

I don't think I can ever watch it again; too painful to think what might have been.
