AIBU?

to wonder about some of the shite being sold on Facebook?

I know it has been done before but honestly it just baffles me some of the stuff people try and sell. Tonight I have seen:-

balloon - 50p (already inflated)
child's swimming goggles - £1
baby bath - offers
Prom dress - £170
Wedding dress - £600
Toddlers Next trousers - £10

Now granted I might be wrong but my thinking is:-

Balloon - nobody cares, chuck it in the bin
Goggles - start a charity bag and stick them in there
Baby bath - charity bag
Prom dress - my DD is only 5 but I can't imagine spending THAT much on a second hand or a new dress for her prom
Wedding dress - If I wanted nearly £600 I wouldn't be putting it on Facebook
Toddlers trousers - I can buy a new pair for that from Next probably, why is this person still "bumping" it since September !!! Put them in the charity bag FFS !!

Baffled Grin

Unfortunately not tech enough to just get the balloon pic but it was one of those small ones (about the size of your hand) with a stick Grin Not sure it would last until March ha ha.

I have just seen Elsa and Ana in what looked like a fishbowl for £20 - suppose you can cellophane that ! {grim}

YANBU. It is utter shite, for the most part. I use fb shit for sale groups to get rid of stuff I don't want, but could be useful to someone else, for free - ie things like bags of baby clothes coat hangers, outgrown children's clothing, etc. I give it away and I could take it to the charity shop but I'm lazy and things just end up sitting in a bag in the corner for months!

The tripe some people try to sell is crazy!!

My current faves are the copious numbers of morons on my local site selling clothes or shoes without specifying the sodding size. It is unbelievably stupid!!

Prom dresses are extortionate !! She has likely spent £4oo ish on it !! Anyways I always try and sell stuff on fb first as it's free and easy . Most of the time I sell it straight away . Never balloons or wedding dresses though !

Oh great, I'm looking for a second hand balloon on a stick Grin
YANBU OP, I joined my local Facebook selling pages on the back of these threads, the laughs they've given me far outweighs the notifications telling me someone else has added a new bundle of shite for sale.

Oh no, I found a doozy the other day and forgot to screenshot it for a thread like this. It was the most godawful homemade valentines pictures. They were awful. £15 bloody quid!

I also never understand why someone wouldn't wash something like those manky shoes first. I have tried to sell immaculate Clarks shoes with no takers so I can't imagine those selling, but who knows, people do buy the 'hampers' all the time.

It's the children's toys for almost as much as I could buy them new that I don't understand. Especially soft toys. A tenner for a bear? I don't think so.

Half a tube of bepanthen (?) cream on mine. Very bizarre.

And a lot of TVs currently for sale but they seem to take the pictures only at night, with the light off but the tv on so you can't actually see what it looks like just what they're watching.

You're right OP there is so much crap up for sale on FB

When some friends do this it makes me wonder about deleting them Grin

Honestly, most of that could go in a charity bag

I'm in a FB group for local mums- and I'm regular astounded by the shite that gets posted up for sale. If they are looking to give stuff away, then ok that's fine.

But when they get into haggling with others, then posting passive-aggressive messages to vent about it...it's just a bit embarrassing really Confused
