to wonder about some of the shite being sold on Facebook?

I know it has been done before but honestly it just baffles me some of the stuff people try and sell. Tonight I have seen:-

balloon - 50p (already inflated)
child's swimming goggles - £1
baby bath - offers
Prom dress - £170
Wedding dress - £600
Toddlers Next trousers - £10

Now granted I might be wrong but my thinking is:-

Balloon - nobody cares, chuck it in the bin
Goggles - start a charity bag and stick them in there
Baby bath - charity bag
Prom dress - my DD is only 5 but I can't imagine spending THAT much on a second hand or a new dress for her prom
Wedding dress - If I wanted nearly £600 I wouldn't be putting it on Facebook
Toddlers trousers - I can buy a new pair for that from Next probably, why is this person still "bumping" it since September !!! Put them in the charity bag FFS !!

Baffled grin

Most is bog standard but I am shock at the balloon! Please post a pic. We have a birthday coming up in March and it might be handy grin

The Easter cellophane monstrosities are imminent

CheshireDing Tue 31-Jan-17 21:33:58

Unfortunately not tech enough to just get the balloon pic but it was one of those small ones (about the size of your hand) with a stick grin Not sure it would last until March ha ha.

I have just seen Elsa and Ana in what looked like a fishbowl for £20 - suppose you can cellophane that ! {grim}

YANBU. It is utter shite, for the most part. I use fb shit for sale groups to get rid of stuff I don't want, but could be useful to someone else, for free - ie things like bags of baby clothes coat hangers, outgrown children's clothing, etc. I give it away and I could take it to the charity shop but I'm lazy and things just end up sitting in a bag in the corner for months!

Just need a wash hmm

MrsNuckyThompson Tue 31-Jan-17 21:36:06

The tripe some people try to sell is crazy!!

My current faves are the copious numbers of morons on my local site selling clothes or shoes without specifying the sodding size. It is unbelievably stupid!!

imjessie Tue 31-Jan-17 21:38:31

Prom dresses are extortionate !! She has likely spent £4oo ish on it !! Anyways I always try and sell stuff on fb first as it's free and easy . Most of the time I sell it straight away . Never balloons or wedding dresses though !

CakeNinja Tue 31-Jan-17 22:23:09

Oh great, I'm looking for a second hand balloon on a stick grin
YANBU OP, I joined my local Facebook selling pages on the back of these threads, the laughs they've given me far outweighs the notifications telling me someone else has added a new bundle of shite for sale.

DJBaggySmalls Tue 31-Jan-17 22:24:46

Those shoes look grimmer than my gardening boots! 'Just need a wash'...so fucking wash them!!!

Iwannasnack Tue 31-Jan-17 22:32:28

Saw half a tub of formula recently confused

Baffledonthisone Tue 31-Jan-17 22:35:16

YABU. Take a breath, scroll on, don't judge. Simple.

HarryPottersMagicWand Tue 31-Jan-17 22:42:17

Oh no, I found a doozy the other day and forgot to screenshot it for a thread like this. It was the most godawful homemade valentines pictures. They were awful. £15 bloody quid!

I also never understand why someone wouldn't wash something like those manky shoes first. I have tried to sell immaculate Clarks shoes with no takers so I can't imagine those selling, but who knows, people do buy the 'hampers' all the time.

Wine o'clock anyone?

BingoBingoBingoBango Tue 31-Jan-17 22:50:04

It's the children's toys for almost as much as I could buy them new that I don't understand. Especially soft toys. A tenner for a bear? I don't think so.

Half a tube of bepanthen (?) cream on mine. Very bizarre.

And a lot of TVs currently for sale but they seem to take the pictures only at night, with the light off but the tv on so you can't actually see what it looks like just what they're watching.

Olswitcharoo Tue 31-Jan-17 23:06:28

I love these threads! I'm off to re-join my FB selling groups!!

Olswitcharoo Tue 31-Jan-17 23:10:44

Ok, quite cute but.....guess how much!

Olswitcharoo Tue 31-Jan-17 23:12:23

£30!!! not good at suspense!

Kinraddie Tue 31-Jan-17 23:38:37

That would give you nightmares!

Eevee77 Wed 01-Feb-17 00:57:07

£5!?

LiviaDrusillaAugusta Wed 01-Feb-17 01:02:13

I like the imagination of some of the sellers though, these came up a while ago...

namechangedmummy23 Wed 01-Feb-17 09:24:50

I have been saving these pics for a thread like this grin anyone guess what these are?

Thefishtankneedswater Wed 01-Feb-17 09:37:31

23 what are they? I really can't figure it out, did think hair clips/bows but can't see how they would be.

HomeFree55 Wed 01-Feb-17 09:48:26
