Anyone have an app recommendation? My FIL is interested and I just checked and there are loads in the app store.

Couch?

I think the NHS one is the best

But tbh I can't see there being much difference between them..... the basis is the same

I assumed this thread was going to be about an expensive sofa, but apparently I'm wrong. Still have no idea what it is about though.

I tried this once. Only useful suggestion I have is not to be too afraid to leave your front door that you walk and jog up and down your hallway

Pinkstars2501 Mon 30-Jan-17 12:03:31

I use the NHS Choices app.

ChequeredPasta Mon 30-Jan-17 22:56:42

The NHS one is brill

Viviene Mon 30-Jan-17 23:09:27

NHS one is the best.

UpWithPup Mon 30-Jan-17 23:16:34

I use c25k. I like it

scottishdiem Mon 30-Jan-17 23:28:25

Oh. From sitting on the couch to running 5km. Or "From Couch to 5km" as the thread should have opened with.

Mybrainishurtingme Mon 30-Jan-17 23:35:16

Yep NHS one, I completed it a while back years ago but just restarted, and I like Laura's encouragement! (The 'narrator' on the NHS one)

Not tried any others to compare but if it can get me running last time I ran was at school then it must be good

Also it's free, so an added bonus

DrFoxtrot Mon 30-Jan-17 23:37:06

The app is called Couch to 5k hmm I'm bored of the thread title police.

OP I started with Couch to 5k and then had enough confidence to join a running group so definitely give it a go.

DrFoxtrot Mon 30-Jan-17 23:37:55

Or FIL give it a go grin

scottishdiem Mon 30-Jan-17 23:47:58

You may be bored of thread title police but a little more relevance might make it clearer. Or was this some kind of insider code that I should not have had to google to discover what OP was talking about?

BikeRunSki Mon 30-Jan-17 23:51:12

I rally like the NHS app. It has encouraging messages at all the right times.

VeryBitchyRestingFace Tue 31-Jan-17 00:00:19

I was about to ask for photos of this £5k couch. blush

max46 Tue 31-Jan-17 07:36:46

Another vote for the NHS one. Laura is very motivating (even if the music is a bit rubbish),

GoesDownLikeACupOfColdSick Tue 31-Jan-17 07:39:59

I used the first one that comes up on google. It took me from being a fat slob to being able to run for an hour at a time.

Then I stopped and now I am a fat slob again. So stopping is the only thing I do not recommend. Go for it smile

RhubarbGin Tue 31-Jan-17 07:40:51

I much prefer the c25k app over the Nhs one!

RhubarbGin Tue 31-Jan-17 07:41:23

c25k by Zenlabs, that is.

Waffles80 Tue 31-Jan-17 07:41:36

scottish are your reading skills so weak that you can't quickly infer that "couch 2 5k" might refer to "from couch 2 5k"

hmm

BitOutOfPractice Tue 31-Jan-17 07:43:54

Scottish I regularly have to google stuff (especially acronyms) on here. Not exactly a hardship is it? And just think, you've learned something new in the process.

So yeah, no need snotty title policing

GloGirl Tue 31-Jan-17 07:57:07

I'd also like to see a £5k couch grin

Thanks for all your advice I'll pass it on.

There's also an online forum for support healthunlocked.com/couchto5k
