To give up my job

I have a lovely job where I work 2 days a week - it's not a pressured job and it's not the job that is making me want to quit. I am a full time mum to my two children 5 and 1 and I just feel exhausted, I have no time to myself ( I know it's common for most of us!) and my partner is disabled and quite ill hence everything dropping on my shoulders. I just have no time to clean my house, fold laundry, general maintenance because I'm
Either at work or have littles with me. My parents have my little one while I work and this could continue - allowing me to have two days a week to get the house back together, shopping etc do general stuff we mums do without my little tornados.

I feel like my non work days would be so less stressful and I could focus on my little one.

But - I just feel like society would look down on me? Is it a stupid mistake to give up a job in this day an age? Will I be mega unemployable once both children are at school?

Money makes no odds as I get less benefits (caring for my oh) because I work. I make practically no money from my job.

I would be inclined to stick with the job. You said it's lovely and you enjoy it. Don't underestimate the impact giving it up will have on your mental health. You will be at home with a disabled DH and two children. Will that be enough to keep your spirits up? Also, any period of extended time out of the workforce can affect your chances of getting a job at a later date.

I don't know your circumstances, but you only work two days. Is there a reason why you can't get the house under control? Not saying it's right, but plenty of women work full time and somehow manage to keep some semblance of order. It doesn't need to be perfect.

Dont give up the job as it is in a sense "you" time. If you give up you will just do more cooking, cleaning, looking after. It is never ending.

Can't your husband help more... do online shopping, ironing..? Your little one will soon be entitled to free nursery places. It will come around quicker than it feels right now.

Are you able to stop off on your way home from work and have a coffee? Or take a days leave and not tell anyone?
