Don't get me wrong, Morgan is an utter twunt and his rant about the Woman's March was vile... BUT, McGregor wasn't taking such a principled stance when he was working with/singing the praises of the man who raped and sodomised a child. He's a hypocrite.

Putting my tin hat on now! Confused

I know what you mean . I cannot abide Piers Morgan and think most of the stuff he says is tripe. He is a horrid man. But I am always utterly perplexed when actors take roles in a Roman Polanski film. It turns my stomach and really puts me off the actor.

I don't like Piers Morgan but he was friends with those people before their crimes were known. Plus he's a misogynistic git. Roman Polanski admitted to his crime then fled justice. McGregor is "sad" for him because he can't go back to the U.S.

Two shitebags slugging it out for publicity does not make one less of a shitebag.

Let me reiterate, PM is a cunt of the highest order. Ewan McGregor is still a hypocrite.

people taking a stand against a massive, massive cunt are still taking a stand, even if they haven't always done the right thing in the past, so I for one am really glad he did.

As were 100s of people who didn't know they were paedophiles, to be fair.

Hah.

Like Mr Morgan wouldn't pole dance wearing a tutu in one of Polanski's films if he thought it would further his career.

I think it was an inspired move by Ewan McGregor. Who in their right mind wants to be interviewed by Piers Morgan? McGregor will have a queue of journalists wanting to interview him. Looking forward even more now to seeing T2.

I suppose my issue is that he's taking a stand against misogynistic words when in the past he's defended a self confessed abuser. It's not really a "McGregor is more of an arse than Morgan" thread, it's a "Morgan is far less of an arse than Polanski and I couldn't give a fuck how good Rosemary's Baby is" thread

Yeah not a fan of Piers but there's no denying EM's fraternising with Polanski takes away any moral high ground I might have initially felt he held.

McGregor and his like defending Polanski.
Mad. Are they saying that it's okay to rape children - as long as you made a few good movies at some point?
I cannot stand being patronised by these bloody idiots.

I loathe this idea that because Roman Polanski is a "genius", which I take issue with anyway, that somehow it was ok to rape a child.

Either you support womens issues or you dont, and if you work with RP then you dont and shouldnt be a fucking hypocrite like EMc. I used to really like him, totally gone off him now.

Polanski is a fucking outrage. What Piers
Morgan said is a fucking outrage.

I'm glad Ewan said what he did about PM even if he didn't say the right thing about RP. Maybe he's had a rethink of RP, who knows, still doesn't excuse what PM said.

By bringing up Polanski, all that Morgan is doing is pointing a finger at McGregor and saying "ooooh but he's one too". It's not like he's actually apologised for being a misogynistic cunt.

So YABU because you don't actually agree with Morgan, you've just allowed him to distract you for a second or two.

Yup.

He's a slippery little man for sure.

McGregor needs to walk the talk.
He is very good at telling us what's right and wrong - but when you get it that wrong, you just end up looking like a twat.

McGregor also thinks that Corbyn is fab. I question his judgement, frankly.

I always feel that way when people rush to work with Woody Allen. Yeah, fine, no warrant out for his arrest, just find Mia Farrow and his daughter Ryan combined with yucky marriage to other adopted daughter quite convincing. Great Vanity Fair article about it.

Abernathy I agree regarding Woody Allen. He's a disgusting predator.

I can't get the article to open, and haven't RTFT, but I am going to assume this has something to do with Ewan McGregor working with Roman Polanski? Roman Polanski is gross, but unfortunately most Hollywood people don't seem to mind that he's a pedophile.
