I don't hate the Kardashians, I'm partial to KUWTK but I wouldn't want my dd to think they're role models/someone to aspire to be like. Strong minded business woman? Yes. But I wouldn't want my dd to think that becoming famous for a sex tape and then spending the rest of your life modelling nude or nearly nude is a career choice.

What exactly is this cultural phenomenon? Anything I have caught of the programme does not contain swearing/sexual content as it is shown all times of day.
Dd is just as happy watching Disney or national geographic and loves history and documentaries.
I haven't yet seen a reason to veto it, seems if anything the programme promotes a good work ethic, and a go getting attitude. I have explained how vanity is not a good thing and appearances aren't everything but equally pride in your appearance / health can only be a positive surely?

I don't care for the kardashians either way but I definitely don't think it's appropriate to let a 9 year old watch their show. It's an adult show with adult themes.

Lots of things are on tv that aren't appropriate for children during the day. Just because it's on doesn't mean you should let her watch it. If she's content with Disney junior then just let her watch that. It's not hard.

There are far better role models out there for young children.

Nope not a wind up. I don't see a reason to veto still. A lot of disney programmes can be adult themed alot of insecurity breeding - alot of does he like me? doesn't he? Situations. Then there's programmes like Hollyoaks (which we don't watch) but are clearly adult themed and aimed at a younger/teen audience. I think alot of the scandal is perhaps outside of the show because I haven't seen anything to make me clutch my pearls. In fact I've caught alot of sensible topics such as charity work, health, juggling family/work commitments more recently acceptance of the transgender community. Very culturally relevant I would say

They were born into money and pretty much were hangers-on to the famous and well connected people. Not slating them for that, but it's not really like they had to work hard for anything. They also have a LOT of cosmetic surgery which they lie about and say is natural. Very bad example to young women who aspire to look like them.
