Aibu in that i'm not really seeing this as a problem? Why do people hate them so much anyway?
I just see strong business minded women.

I don't hate them, but I don't think that programme is appropriate for a 9yo. Lot of sex talk and swearing. I do think they're bad role models.

It's not a cultural phenomenon I would choose to expose my 9 year old daughter too. Presumably you still have some power of veto over the programmes she watches, use it.

What did she think with the episode where Kim, etc go find Kris's vibrators and are brandishing them about?

I don't hate the Kardashians, I'm partial to KUWTK but I wouldn't want my dd to think they're role models/someone to aspire to be like. Strong minded business woman? Yes. But I wouldn't want my dd to think that becoming famous for a sex tape and then spending the rest of your life modelling nude or nearly nude is a career choice.

I'm still a bit funny about my 14 year old DD watching it but ofc I can't tell her what she can and can't watch.

I don't hate them at all, it just think it's extremely inappropriate.

Strong minded business women, who when they slide a little off the front page start flinging off clothes willy nilly. Who's main claim to fame are a sex tape that their own mother pedaled to the media. Not a one of them with the face or body they were born with. Perfect example for a nine year old.

Really OP?

Not just trying to provoke a fairly inevitable reaction, then?

No, of course a nine year old shouldn't be watching it, but you probably already know that.

Famous for being paris hiltons wardrobe fixer upperer then sex tape cosmetic procedures as standard creating drama out of nothing shouting fall outs self absorbtion isnt something i would want a 9yrold to watch.

It's vacuous rubbish but as long as she knows they are vacuous she's welcome to laugh at them like the rest of us.

God no. This 'strong business women' mentality is off the back of a sex tape. They aren't anything a young girl should watch and potentially aspire to be. Vulgar, crude, nasty, cheap, a dumb as a bag of rocks.

What exactly is this cultural phenomenon? Anything I have caught of the programme does not contain swearing/sexual content as it is shown all times of day.
Dd is just as happy watching Disney or national geographic and loves history and documentaries.
I haven't yet seen a reason to veto it, seems if anything the programme promotes a good work ethic, and a go getting attitude. I have explained how vanity is not a good thing and appearances aren't everything but equally pride in your appearance / health can only be a positive surely?

What work ethic ? Its just brand kardashian

Well then let her watch Disney which is age appropriate. Let her watch history documentaries. Don't like a nine year old watch the completely age inappropriate gash that is the Kardashians.

Add into the mix mumma pretty much turning a blind eye to that rapper dick and her underage daughter, you have a fucked up family, who put fame before everything. Jeez, for a nine year old? Shove on Disney Descendents.

I literally don't believe a word of this.

You're on a wind-up, OP.

I'd cry if my daughter aspired to be anything like these "strong minded business women". I thought the claim to fame was OJ Simpson lawyer, then came the sex tape right? Ugh

I don't care for the kardashians either way but I definitely don't think it's appropriate to let a 9 year old watch their show. It's an adult show with adult themes.

Lots of things are on tv that aren't appropriate for children during the day. Just because it's on doesn't mean you should let her watch it. If she's content with Disney junior then just let her watch that. It's not hard.

There are far better role models out there for young children.

Nope not a wind up. I don't see a reason to veto still. A lot of disney programmes can be adult themed alot of insecurity breeding - alot of does he like me? doesn't he? Situations. Then there's programmes like Hollyoaks (which we don't watch) but are clearly adult themed and aimed at a younger/teen audience. I think alot of the scandal is perhaps outside of the show because I haven't seen anything to make me clutch my pearls. In fact I've caught alot of sensible topics such as charity work, health, juggling family/work commitments more recently acceptance of the transgender community. Very culturally relevant I would say

Ha ha ha ha ha Grin

Stellar parenting then OP. All the basics covered in one hideous, fake, image-obsessed pile of brain-numbing hyperbole.

Why did you feel the need to ask, incidentally?

A good work ethic?

They were born into money and pretty much were hangers-on to the famous and well connected people. Not slating them for that, but it's not really like they had to work hard for anything. They also have a LOT of cosmetic surgery which they lie about and say is natural. Very bad example to young women who aspire to look like them.
