AIBU?

A&E worthy?

DH had a head injury on Saturday, well actually he had 3 hard collisions whilst playing rugby. He thinks he stayed conscious and can remember the events. He continued to play but felt sick after the game. He told me last night that he feels as though he's been in a fog ever since. He keeps getting muddled up, and also his vision has gone slightly. He described it as similar to when you see heat rising on hot tarmac. Tried to get a doctors appt for him but there were none available today. He hasn't been able to go to work as he said he doesn't feel safe to drive. He also had a dull headache since Saturday which has got increasingly worse. Is this A&E worthy or should he wait to see if the doctors have availability tomorrow? We have to ring every morning in the hopes of getting an appointment with our doctors as the only book able appt is 2 weeks away.

He definitely needs to go to A&E. I am a GP and A&E doc. If I saw him in my GP practice, I'd be sending him to hospital. Don't let him drive.

A&E for a head injury yes, I wouldn't say you are wasting their time

I would certainly go to A&E. A head injury is nothing to mess with. I would think your GP would suggest the same.

A&E without a doubt, it's a head injury. They can be serious. I hope you've gone Op and good luck, let us know how it goes.

Absolutely he needs to go to A&E, you don't mess about with head/brain injuries.

He could have done serious harm (sorry not trying to panic you).

A GP and A&E doc has told him to go to A &E surely all other opinions are irrelevant!

A&E definitely and no driving. If other team members can provide more data on the collisions it may also be useful.

Of course he should go to A&E

Yes get in the car and begone - it sounds like concussion as a minimum and def needs a check over.

Definitely A&E, as quick as you like and not under his own steam. Take him there!

I would have said emergency GP but judging by the first reply I'm wrong.

So A&E!
