Who all use carseats?

I've just found out I'm pregnant Shock, still in a bit of a shock actually.
Already have 2DC, youngest is only 18months. Anyway amongst other things i realised we probably will need a new car.
What car do you have that works well with 2young DC + baby and has space for buggies etc?

Also do you have 3 carseats all on the back seat? The baby in the middle?

Landrover discovery-its the only car in my opinion that is worth it. We have 3 car seats across the back comfortably we have a 4,3 and 1yo. The boot space is huge we get 3 buggies and a weeks shop and still have a normal sized boot room left in there.

Touareg- wide back seat and good boot space.

A ford galaxy 😮 We were in a similar predicament when dc3 came along and we extend rear face them all so we needed a lot of space to fit all the seats in the same direction. It isn't so bad if the baby is rear facing and the other to are forward as they can be staggered. If like us you need them all going in the same direction then it's pretty much ford galaxy, ford smax, seat Alhambra and vw sharan as they have 3 full seats in the back with isofix. There is a Citroen people carrier with 3 full seats but they are very narrow. We didn't want any of ours in the back row seats yet as they are so young.

Toyota Verso, 3 seats across the middle row with stage 0/1 (and then stage 2 seat) on an end. DC1 in the middle as they're most able to do up their own seat.

Citroen xsara Picasso. Baby on the left, 4.5 year old in the middle and 2.5 year old on the right. Not very glamorous but spacious enough for all of us!

The discovery was too tight for us and the xc90 only has an in built booster seat in the middle so you can't put a car seat in which is only suitable for 6/7 plus. It depends on your seats, we actually had to try them all in.

VW Touran. We only have one car seat. Good for taking friends with additional pop up seats in boot.

I have a Peugeot 5008. When the youngest was a baby we had baby seat one side, normal booster in the middle and hbb next to that.

I think you could fit two hbb and a baby seat if you had the right seats though the 5008 is a 7 seater so has two more pop up seats in the boot space. On the school run 8 yo ds goes in the front (he's 142 cm tall) on booster, airbag off. 6yo and 2yo in the back.

We got the Peugeot despite worrying about French cars because it scored highly in safety ratings and is fairly efficient for a car that size on fuel economy (I average 48mpg). It's been very good.

Volvo XC90. It's fab. Even when seat 6 and 7 are up you'd still fit a fair bit in the boot. With the seats down I can fit house basically! 3 seats fit across the backseat which will be needed for a looooong time. Mine are 3, 2 and 1.

Sam, XC90 can absolutely have a seat in the middle! The booster packs away tidily and there's a proper seatbelt there.

Seat Alhambra. It's bloody brilliant.

We have a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso. DC are 6, 2 and 11m (still in his maxi-cosi) and they all fit in the normal back seats. Nice to drive too.

Oh and that inbuilt booster is suitable from 4....not that you'd probably use it for regular use at that age.

Alhambra
With three recarro seats (so massive). The baby is in the middle.

We wanted an xc90'but couldn't justify the additional dual and service costs Sad
