AIBU?

To be fed up of the gossiping?

I was signed off work (almost a year ago now) and it was mainly due to a colleague.

I've since been back, got a better job (same company) and in such a better place.

Found out today people are STILL talking about it. Aibu or are people really that sad they have nothing more interesting to talk about?

I understand office politics and how bitchy it can be but seriously it happened so long ago.

Maybe if you have only recently gone back there is just an element of surprise because they may have thought you'd left. When you say you have a better job may be that is what they are talking about if one of them thought they were in with a chance of that job.

Try to ignore it or if you feel up to it and hear them talking about you say "Yes -? sorry I thought I heard my name and assume you wanted me? Is there something I could help you with?"

I don't know, what did you hear, maybe it simply came up in the conversation? It doesn't necessarily have to be active gossiping about you. E.g. I might talk to a colleague about office bullying and they might say yes, that's similar to what happened to Sid last year? That sort of thing.
