I was sitting with a refusal letter when she posted.
I took her advice and appealed, providing every scrap of medical letters and reports I had to hand.
Didn't hear for weeks so presumed it had gotten lost in post and gave it up as a lost cause.
On the 23rd December I received a letter telling me I had been awarded it
I didn't have to go to a meeting, they just awarded it.

I cannot remember the poster's name, but if she hadn't posted I wouldn't have dreamed of appealing

So, if you see this thread, THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH.

So glad to hear your good news myoriginal3 Flowers
Kudos CockacidalManiac. They took over 8 months to sort out my neighbours benefits; she has type 1 diabetes and is registered as blind.

The PIP system is very broken, I'm afraid. I used the pseudonym to avoid any Capita comeback, but it doesn't really matter now.

CockacidalManiac · 12/01/2017 15:12

It proves that you have to appeal if you get turned down for PIP. 7 out of 10 claimants win on appeal.

And you're very welcome.

I hadn't provided any medical evidence apart from contact details of consultants in initial application.

I presumed they would have contacted them.

When appealing I sent everything!

It was such a kind hearted thing of you to post.

I posted on that thread because I was very anxious about my OH's assessment appointment coming up.
I will in the midst of an incredibly stressful time and couldn't imagine anything going right tbh.

OH got the enhanced rate for five years which was an amazing relief.

So glad you got sorted OP - such a nice lady to start that thread. I have agoraphobia and I know someone who says they have anxiety but they went on their own to the appt and on the bus alone which they do all the time (I just couldn't do it). I can't go out at all unless DH is with me and even then not far - they got full everything and I get £20 low rate mobility on DLA still ... not a clue how to go about it when mine changes over Sad

Serial. I too have agoraphobia and it's a bitch!

Thankfully? Hmm I had a psychiatrist report, a risk assessment thingy which on reading made me out to be a stark raving lunatic.

Maybe that's why I didn't need an assessment. I would have been afraid of me if I read it!! Grin

💐😊💐😊💐😊

Fantastic! I get properly fucked off with MN at times, all the trolls & utter shite, but it's things like this that keep me here.

Well done cockacid 💐 You're a real ⭐️

Lol I think I'm a lunatic most days ........ I don't want to see a psychiatrist because they offer meds and I won't take any but diazapam when needed - I used to have a housing support worker but she packed me in when I wouldn't go out on my own (doh that was why I needed you, you plonker), so I'm a bit stuffed other than the GP knows all about it because it's been around 8 years ... that's why I don't think they'll give me anything though because I've not much evidence
