To collect all my menstrual stuff in a bottle?

I have a new cup so I'm a bit intrigued by it all. Does anyone else have a FemmyCycle? It's a shit name but it's a special 'low cervix' version for fat old people with a falling out uterus.

Anyway. Having taken to bleeding what feels like 4 litres every month I'd like to know how much it really is so propose a bit of a collection.

Can you measure it each time your change it? (or measure the cup and put markings on it) then note it down, then add it up.

Keeping it in a bottle - you would lose some each time and you need to store it somewhere where it will not get skanky .

I don't think you would need to keep it. Does the cup you're using not come with a little ml indicator? I'd just write it down every time you empty it and add up rather than saving it. It's dead tissue so it can't be very sanitary.

YABU that would be grim! Does the Cup not have measurement marks on? The Mooncup does. Perhaps you could estimate each time and keep a note then add them up rather than keeping the blood

Apparently it is very good for the garden. I used to use my bloody water from the tub I soaked my cloth pads in for the garden...

But I'd not want to save up my menstrual blood. I would keep a wee note each time I emptied. The moon-cup does have measurements but if yours doesn't you could measure different amounts of water first to see how much it holds etc.

I've used a mooncup for 15ish years but that looks like a bell jar!

Beyond - I have a copper coil and use a cup no problem
Just make sure the strings are short enough that they don't get caught between the cup and vaginal wall

It is quite sucky. More so than my mooncup was, but that was a bit old. It's quite wide but it's not supposed to completely open I think. (And I am old and saggy so doesn't appear to be a width issue). The handle is ok. Quite short and flat

My mooncup seem a bit..rigid these days. It presses on my bladder sometimes. I am also old so this might work better...

It'll most likely be less blood than you expect - I seem to remember from somewhere that 80-150 ml is about standard over the course of a period.

Fill it with water and then measure the amount of water it holds. You could probably put markers for half way with permanent marker on the inside.

Try out how much water you can fit in the cup (then put it in a measuring jug) and then you know how much goes in the cup when you empty it - at least a rough estimate. None of the grossness, but you get an idea of amount.

That's why I'd like to actually measure Twerp. I'm certain there's an awful lot more. I was having to empty the mount about 8 times a day and still overflowing. So unfair. It never used to be so bad.

I remembered that the sex ed books all said that we lose 2-3 tablespoons every cycle. My cup holds that volume I reckon and I'd empty it twice a day over 3 days.

Dunno how big the tablespoons were in the 80's. Maybe they meant ladlespoons

Actually, I think I have measurements on my cup, and I just put it in today so I'll keep score too.
