Can't afford to get to work!

Aaarrrggghhhhh just venting. Am paying off debt which was built up over one of us not being able to work whilst going through diagnoses process for our son and as a result I can't afford to go to work, as in the travel!

Am seriously considering calling in sick as can't really afford to pay the bus fare!

Calling in sick of course won't help with next months money.

Just needed to vent!

Any chance of a lift from a colleague? Put a shout out round the office for a lift until pay day

Let your employer know. Many will make salary advances available or use petty cash in this situation

Can you renegotiate the debt payments? CAB or money advice people should be able to help and as PP says speak to your boss they would much prefer you be in work than 'off sick' which can only make the situation worse.

Does your employer do a season ticket loan for a travel pass that they take out of your salary monthly?

Ask for a salary advance, or a loan you can pay back over several months.

Thanks guys will speak to my boss when he's in. It's not normally so bad but after xmas like everyone I guess it's a struggle but you know what the debts reducing and will eventually be gone.

It worth the short term struggle for the long term peace of mind.

We'll get there.

Has your son got any Christmas money you could borrow until payday?

You cant afford to get to work. Fuckin hell. Ive heard it all now.!!!!!
I wouldn't take out a loan. As that's going to put you back in an even worse position next month.
If you're payments are to the point where you can't afford the bus fare to work. You clearly need to call your creditors to reduce your Payments.

I've been there before. It sucks and is really embarrassing- you have my sympathy.

The first time it happened, I rang a colleague & pretended dh's car had broken down & asked for an emergency lift. The second time I just rang in sick.
