To ask him to do school run?

I am a Sah and as a result do virtually all school runs. The only time I don't normally is if youngest does breakfast club. This is a fairly rare occurrence.
So today I was utilizing my Christmas present and needed to be at Champneys too early to do school run so I booked breakfast club. I told dh about this but he clearly wasn't keen to do it. I could do the run but needed to return home afterwards to supervise our other children's departure.
He reluctantly did the run and I did pick up but he now has the hump.
Was I being unreasonable to expect him to do this one school run?
I still did packed lunch and got uniform out etc.

It isn't unreasonable to expect him to do a whole bloody lot more.

Thank you

What's his objection? Did it make him late for work? If not then HIBU.

Seems a bit mean to me. Who bought you the present?

Is the odd school run the sole total of his contributions to the kids?

He brought me the gift. He claimed he didn't get enough notice but I did mention it upon booking it.
It didn't make him late. He doesn't do much during the week either with the kids or home but is abit more hands on at the weekend. But still doesn't really do his share imo.

A one-off school run & he's complaining?!!!!

If it didn't mean he had to change his working hours or rearrange his working day what on earth was his objection?

Leeds mean?! How exactly? Or is OP expected to do all the domestic drudgery 364 1/2 days a year bar a few hours at Champers?

honeylulu Tue 10-Jan-17 20:28:22

Because it's a "woman's job" Ameliajack

pinkyredrose Tue 10-Jan-17 20:28:39

Champneys I mean!

AmeliaJack Tue 10-Jan-17 20:30:36

Is honey right Catlady because if so, fuck that.

Also no one has informed my DH that or the many other Dads and Grandads at the school gate.

Catlady1976 Tue 10-Jan-17 20:31:30

Think Leeds is probably thinking he is being a bit mean.

pinkyredrose Tue 10-Jan-17 20:33:55

Oh! In that case I agree with Leeds!

Catlady1976 Tue 10-Jan-17 20:33:56

He rarely can do the school run as he is at work so I suppose I thought he would have wanted to do it.

Just to clarify that working full time isn't INSTEAD of parenting your own children.

AmeliaJack Tue 10-Jan-17 21:01:51

I would be unimpressed Cat

A one off that didn't make him late. Hibu and needs to step up to what being a parent actually is, including the boring organisational bits

Catlady1976 Tue 10-Jan-17 21:42:42

Well he has apologized for being grumpy about it. Now accepts it made sense for him to do it.
A shame though as it had taken the shine off a lovely relaxing day.
