AIBU?

To tell you how useless currys/knowhow are

I am losing the plot with them.
27 December - ordered fridge freezer. Paid £35 extra for door reversal (controls are in door so its complicated to do as wires need moving)
30 Dec - FF delivered but delivery men unable to reverse door as they are subcontractors and not trained to do so.
They assure me that someone will come on Tuesday 3rd to do it.
Call currys to confirm a time for Tues 3rd. Oh no, we can't come then, it will be Thu 5th.
Thursday 5th - receive text reminder that they are coming today. wait home all day, no one comes. Phone lines closed before end of delivery slot so can't even call to rant at them. Tracking states that order is completed - what a joke!!
Fri 6th - call them to find out why no one showed. They said it's been Rebooked on system for mon 9th but with no information about why one one came. Asked woman if appliance needs to be emptied etc for them to do it because I thought they'd need to lie it down. No she says.
Mon 9th 8am - 2 guys show up, take one look at fridge and tell me they can't touch it as it has to be switched off for 12 hours before they can lie it down to turn the door around. Only no-one bothered to tell me this. It will also need to be off for 4 further hours after they've done it. Given that their time slot is a 4 hour period this means the freezer may be off for a total of 20 hours, and means that I will probably loose all the shopping that went into the freezer yesterday. What a bunch of useless idiots.
Now I am on hold to them for a 4th time since buying the fridge trying to sort this mess out.
So if you're thinking of buying a fridge from currys, don't.

Just turn it upside down.

It worked for Barratt when they built my house.

I'm right with you. 45 mins on the phone to them today about a washing machine that doesn't wash.
And don't get me started on non delivery of white goods.
Avoid them.

I will NEVER buy from them ever, ever again. I lost many hours of my life over many days trying to return a broken washing machine (it broke after 5 washes) and was passed from one call centre number to another. Probably the worst level of customer service I've ever experienced.

Similar story here, except my machine broke after one wash, and it took two weeks to get sorted. The customer service was utterly, utterly inept (and in the case of the one woman I spoke to, incredibly rude (she was huffily insisting that having to book three days holiday off work at short notice and being without a machine for two weeks 'isn't a major inconvenience').

I still get incredibly annoyed by it months later. I ended up getting a refund and ordering from AO - that machine broke down after 3 months, but the difference in customer service was amazing. AO were brilliant.

Would never buy anything from Currys ever again after dealing with them in the past.

Had a bad experience with them with a fridge/freezer some years ago. Moved to a different area and, not having learned my lesson, bought a cooker from them, which arrived damaged. Took many phone calls to sort that out as well.

The staff are unhelpful and nobody there gives a damn. Awful, awful company.

Ime yabu. I've always had deliveries on time with no problems. I also had my fridge replaced within a week when the old one stopped working and couldn't be repaired, and my dryer was repaired within a week when the motherboard needed replacing.

Yes absolute shit .

My laptops are insured with them . .They never ever give the replacement laptops either that are told (subject to availability which I do understand) are part of the insurance payment each month .

I bought a washing machine from currys, paid an extra £20 to get it installed.

An error message kept appearing 10 mins into the cycle.

Sent out an engineer who looked at it and said he couldn't work out the problem and it looked to be faulty, so he would arrange a replacement.

I pulled it out and looked myself, original engineer had connected water to the wrong pipe, and neither of them had noticed.

Never use them. Stick with Apliances Online. Exceptional service.

Curry's customer service is a nightmare. Urgently needed a fridge as old one had stopped working and Curry's seemed to be the quickest delivery time.
Waited in all day for delivery and it didn't arrive. Tried to cancel the order and it took over a week of emails (not answered) and phone calls (in queue for over 40 mins each time charged at 14p/min) to eventually find out they'd delivered it to the wrong address. Payment had gone from my account the day I'd ordered it, and they'd overcharged me Angry.

They were the useless shower of shites who kept my laptop for six weeks, finally sent it back to the wrong address (100 miles away, god knows how) one day within the time limit that they'd have had to admit defeat and give me a new one, and when it finally turned up it wasn't actually fixed. Never again.

I would never buy anything from them again. I bought a digital radio from them years and years ago and it stopped working almost immediately and had massive difficulty getting a refund, the manager was horrible to me and kept trying to say he couldn't do anything as I hadn't bought their extended warranty. And then the replacement broke. I'm just glad it was a relatively cheap item, and not something essential.

Yep, it took 2 weeks before they could even send an engineer out to confirm that it was indeed broken and not, as he was sure was the case, the result of bra wire or money being stuck in the drum, ie my fault and therefore they wouldnt take it back (this was after the days I spent being passed from pillar to post), another few days before it was taken away, and another week before they refunded us. Almost a month from my first call to the money coming back to us Angry

I agree. The staff in there avoid customers like the plague!!
I'm not sure what they actually get paid for Hmm

Ooh yes are they still doing that disappearing act?

Remember being in one of their shops, a long time ago though, and there not being one member of staff on the shop floor.

Had I been so inclined I could have stuffed half the shop down my jumper and walked out and I'm pretty sure no one would have noticed.

I've never actually been able to buy anything from
Currys in order for it to go wrong. Everything I've ever tried to buy is always out of bloody stock.

Staff in store are beyond useless, they all seem to have perfected the "lights on but no one home" look

So i spent an hour being on hold then transferred to different departments.
Fridge door reversal person is now Rebooked for Friday morning. But I won't get my hopes up!!
I asked to log a complaint about my shit experience. Guy on phone (very nice) did so and gave me reference number. So I asked "and when can I expect to hear back about that?"
Guy says "oh, you won't, we just use for internal quality control" Hmm
