AIBU to think this is not OK?

I'm looking, on eBay, for a 'small lamp'. This keeps appearing, from various sellers (but all around the same high price). Really? There are no male torso lamps - and definitely no specifically 'minority' torso lamps. In 2017 is it really still OK to have this sort of thing? Jeffrey Dahmer would be ecstatic, wouldn't he?

Eh? I'm lost, I'm afraid. And Jeffrey Dahmer is dead, so...

DulliDulli Mon 09-Jan-17 00:50:05

What am I missing?

TheNiffler Mon 09-Jan-17 00:50:06

Huh? It's red, it's non-minority, unless you're sunburnt.

TheNiffler Mon 09-Jan-17 00:51:14

2017's Must Have. A mosaic minority torso lamp. Catchy.

What's wrong with it?

OutToGetYou Mon 09-Jan-17 00:52:30

Dunno if you're being unreasonable but you're certainly being a bit bananas.

I think they're over charging.

It's a lamp, if you don't like it don't get it.

Here's some nice male torso lamps, OP.

These ones are lovely.

What if a lesbian wants it for her bedroom, is it still unacceptable?

Women are beautiful, even to other straight Women and Gay Men and naked men can be a bit intimidating and not really sexy.

I don't like these because they are too 'obvious', but if that's your taste, then so be it.

MommaGee Mon 09-Jan-17 01:03:36

I want the guy with horns!

Sorry link o lots of different coloured albeit female bust lamps

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface Mon 09-Jan-17 01:06:15

'Momma' the guy with the horns also covers the minority aspect.

Fawns? What was Mr Tumminus?

MommaGee Mon 09-Jan-17 01:06:23

So yup, yabu

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface Mon 09-Jan-17 01:07:45

Ooo, I love these!!

TheThingsWeAdmitOnMN Mon 09-Jan-17 01:09:25

If you must post this tripe, go do it on the feminism board.

Totally replacing my anglepoise with this.

LauderSyme Mon 09-Jan-17 01:21:01

I totally get where you're coming from. The objectification of women's bodies is hideously ubiquitous in our society.
But I also think there's a long history of classical figurative art and sculpture that you may be overlooking.
TheThings that was rude and patronising.
