AIBU?

AIBU to not get bath bombs?

I was given 2 bath bombs for Christmas. Was v excited to use one, watched it fizz and it did smell nice. But then there were loads of coloured bits floating in the bath. And sparkles. And I was covered in coloured bits and sparkles. Once I'd run the bath out, there was so much scum around it, and I had to scrub the whole bath to remove the residue. And I've still got fecking sparkles on me!! AIBU or am I missing something?

YANBU. I hate them!

They are just designed to make you have to clean your bath and have a shower, and then clean that!

Nah that's the gist of bath bombs 😂

Glittery mess filled bathroom, I don't mind them now and again, hate having to clean the bath afterwards though.

January is so dreary, I think a light covering of sparkles is a good thing.

Nope - that pretty much sums them up. You need a shower afterwards otherwise you'll end up with sparkles all round the house!

Did they come with a lovely glittery, tinselly tube of Canestan?

Gritty arse balls I call them

I'm not a fan either, seem a bit pointless to me. Maybe for very girly fifteen year old girls, but past that no.

I got some once from lush, as a gift and the one I used left flowers in my bath, proper pain in the backside to clean out. I threw the rest out,

I used to love lush bath bombs (even though I would spend half an hour cleaning the bath after I got out).
Stopped using them when I got a very sore belly button after using a glittery one..

I really like them, but have to wait until I have the motivation to clean my bath before I have one and then afterwards. So, I can't decide whether YABU or not.

I love them, always ask for them at Christmas as it's something that is disposable in a good way.
They are a bit childish I suppose but I like that.

YANBU, ridiculous things!

DD loves lush bath bombs but she's 8. I'd like them more if they actually smelled of something nice but they hardly do.

Good ones have essential oils etc in which are good for your skin/hair etc

In my experience you only really get a mark around the bath (that doesn't rinse away) if the bath was dirty anyway and the bomb has stuff to stick to?

YABU. Want to be able to have something frivolous in my bath just for the hell of it.
Instead have to be content with crappy medicated stuff that smells and turns the water cloudy.
Glittery shit that craps glitter all over the bathroom and is heavily perfumed would love to use for a change with no horrible consequences! smile]

I love them. Not all have glittery/bits in them. A lot are just plain. You don't need to clean your bath after every time - mine never stain and any detritus is just rinsed out by the shower?

Try one without glitter. If you get the good ones they make your skin feel lovely (and hair). You'll still have to scrub the bath though Grin

Did you use the whole bomb? I used to, but was told in Lush that you can get 4-6 baths from one, so would last me over a year.

I don't mind the ones that are just a pleasant smell and include nice skincare ingredients; they're quite nice. They're basically just a modern version of the 'bath cubes' once favoured by the nation's nans, really.

But the ones that turn the bathwater purple and/or leave glitter or other stuff behind just annoy me. I'm sure they're fun for kids, but it's all bit much for me! They seem to have got sillier and sillier in recent years. Someone bought me a set that included one that had bloody dried flower buds in the middle. I'm sorry, but I don't want to have a bath in fucking pot pourri.

yanbu. not only do they leave a rim of crud around the bath, they also upset my very delicate fanjo.

was told in Lush that you can get 4-6 baths from one

So you have to fish out the soggy, part-dissolved bath bomb from the water before it disappears, then find somewhere to keep it while it dries out? And then have a damp, crumbly thing sitting somewhere in the bathroom gathering dust and germs until your next bath?

I don't fancy this idea at all.

One of the main things I don't like about Lush is that so many of their products seem messy and inconvenient or 'go off' in a matter of a couple of weeks because of their supposedly fresh ingredients. I do like some of their products, but not many.

Was excited when I got given some at Christmas. They fizzed, turned the bath a bit milky and that was it. Then they made my legs itch, so ended up throwing them away. The best bit about them was they came in a nice tin. I expected them to make the bath smell nice.

You don't have to fish the bath bomb out to reuse it, you just cut a bit off with a knife to put in.

No one gets 4-6 uses from a Lush BB. 2 if you're being stingy but they're designed to be single use.Smile

There is one from lush. I can't remember its name but it has cocoa butter in and you emerge from the water like a newborn baby..
Other than that one they are shite.
