Sleepover DISASTER wwyd

It's my dd birthday sleepover and they're still awake shouting and screaming and laughing....discussing fun the next day..that's ok ish.
My big quandary is that at midnight my 3 kids started vomiting and vomiting and vomiting. The younger ones hadn't mixed but when dd felt funny I removed her immediatly. ..and then she started a half hr later and they're upstairs while the party s downstairs.
Now what do I do??? I m so tired I can't fathom it. At midnight I should have called but didn't have the measure of the sickness. They ate the same thing today so it's a bug or poisoning...pretty sick cramps. ..screaming when pain comes etc.

I'm awful but I m finding myself angry that the girls are running riot downstairs (not all to be fair) I ve gone in several times but I just went in and got "when's breakfast...what are we having again?" Which I get as I'd planned a great one...
But to be honest I need to get them home asap in the morning before I burst into tears.
So at 8 I text parents-phone and say kids sick all night...take your dc asap in case it's a bug or what?
The riot would be fine if dc weren't so sick and the sick would be fine if I didn't gave 8 other 10yr olds ....just together it's a mess

Poor dd was so looking forward to this special party and she's a crabby mum who's prob made her unpopular in one night....

Oh no poor you Sad

I'd call the parents now and explain what's happened. I'm sure most will happily collect their kids under the circumstances.

I hope your DCs are better soon Flowers

Go in and be firm. Tell them to go to sleep.

Bless you. Three vomiting children is no fun. I'd text parents at 7. I think thats reasonable. I'd want to collect my children quick sharp if there was a risk of a bug

What savage said 4am for that age is ridiculous tell them! I would be really ashame if my daughter behaved like that in someone else's home

I'd be texting at 6am saying "So sorry, three of my children have come down very ill with vomiting bug and you will need to come get your child right away so I can care for my ill ones. I hope you child hasn't already been exposed to what my children have as it's dreadful!". That should bring them running!

There's two that'll never ever come back and the rest are good kids how are desperately trying to sleep.
I was firm....I m a scout leader so I can be firm (but kind) I m definatly not a walk over....but good swwet jeasus I ve never had this...and never will again. Told them I d 2 options, call parents now or at 8...if they slept fine 8am is ok but if they were going to stay up they might as well head home.
I told them given the circumstances I needed them gone first thing ...but sure I could drop them now...no skin off my nose. 2 didn't even notice the bday girl was gone...the had ipads out talking about boys and texts....so I took them away and left them on the shelf...my ass at 3 am was I letting thst happen....besides the whole boy thing drove me bikers. ..the others are really innocent and mortified.
Anyway sleep deprivation is killing me. Kids are vomiting in their sleep so worried they ll choke...

Oh, and 'good breakfast' would now be cold cereal and juice.

sunnyshowers · 07/01/2017 04:50

To be honest just checked them because I m upstairs with kids and they went quite and then sniggered when I walked away....shouldn't have bothered checking but still need to be sure they're ok...they're kids....they're just so unaware and that's not really their fault. But there's a lack of respect and that I need to digest

So sorry for you there, they sound like a complete bunch of shits.
I've had sleepovers which bordered on getting out of hand and only the thought of " never again " kept me from bundling them into the car and dumping them back home. It sounds like food poisoning I suspect with your description of the tummy cramps.
Hope your children are ok.

I don't think it's fine for them to still be awake so late at night! We've always had lights out by 11, asleep by 12.

Hope that everyone is feeling better this morning?

God I hate big sleepovers - dd2 friends have form like this and the next day is always hell.
Most importantly hope your 3 dc better this morning

I'd honestly be talking to the parents of the two kids you say have been the worst. If the parents of the others ask id be honest and say they were all a nightmare.

That aside, I feel so so sorry for your Dd - what bad luck: I hope she, and her siblings, feel better soon. Could you have a couple of best friends have a treat of some kind wkth Dd another time once she's better?

Send the text out now if you haven't already done so. I would want to collect my child immediately. Start phoning parents at 7am if they've not responded to the text - phone parents of the troublemakers first! You poor thing, I hope your dc are better soon and you manage to get some rest later todayFlowers

Definitely send the text now, you poor thing! What a nightmare and how inconsiderate of the girls to be behaving this way! I would definitely be honest with the parents when they ask if there were okay! Hope your girls recover quickly and you can catch up on sleep soon! 🌺

My dd had a sleepover party just the once. They were in my lounge directly under my bedroom. At about 1 ish I got fed up with the noise so went downstairs told them to be quiet and go to sleep I turned off the lights and sat in the lounge in the dark until they fell asleep. Would this work for you?

Oh God, what a nightmare. I hope your dc and you are okay.

Definetly send a text if you haven't already. If I was one of the parents I'd come and get all the girls in my car and drop them off. I'd also be mortified at the behavior my child.

Report
Fadingmemory · 07/01/2017 06:55

Text now. I would tell the parents about the bad behaviour. However, if you feel you can't be completely frank to the parents of the worst offenders, say something like, 'Boudicca is a lively girl isn't she? None of us slept a wink. We just didn't know what she'd say next.' Try and adopt a light tone but don't smile. (Guess you don't feel much like it anyway)
Hope your children recover soon and that you get some sleep.

Ring all parents now
Get them out of your home before they get ill.

That truly sounds like the worst night ever!

Report

We were rang at 4.45 am once from dd's first sleepover as she " wasn't settling "

When the phone rings at that time you tend to imagine the worst and that somebody is dead. The mum has asked dd to stay over again and we've politely declined.

She's nearly 6, I thought it was way too young for a sleepover at 5 but the girls were desperate and so excited- never again!

Op in your circumstances it would be totally reasonable to contact all parents at 8, you need to concentrate on the sick dc and loads of extra girls is going to send you over the edge. Best of luck.

I hope you are getting rid of the other kids as I type this!
Also hope your DC have a quick recovery.
And that you get a nap later today.
