I had a job. Where my hrs were cut back to around 30 h I g done 44 so I took another fulltime position and worked my notice.
The new job had several teething issues that I could see past however after a month became apparent it wasn't for me.
I applied for another job with more money and no 16 hr days and was offered it.
When I told my boss he said he wanted at least three weeks notice not the one week I offered despite saying in my contract it was nil. Notice either way in the first instance so I worked a couple before falling I'll
In the meantime while I'm in bed iget a text from a colleague from my first place saying they really want. Me back and I can have a contract for as many hrs as I like as I was missed.
I said I was I'll and needed time to. Consider.
I didn't hear from job two despite sending references and medical info back so when my original job pushed me for an answer I said yes.
So.now I have one place nr where I live I have upset new colleagues.and another local business I worked for many moons ago I have accidentally messed about.
I feel dreadful as usually I have a fantastic work reputation. To make matters worse my df thinks I've made the wrong choice e even though I'm middle aged !!! Arrrrrghhh

These events happened over two weeks while I had flu.

Your colleagues have no right to be pissed off at you. No company can expect you to work ridiculous hours for low pay then be surprised when you leave.
The fact you were offered your old job back on better terms just goes to show they could have treated you better.
Its a win for you. you still have a job and now they know how much they need you.

Go back with your head held high, and ask for a raise every year from now on.

It sounds like the whole thing has made you very stressed over several weeks/months. You have nothing to feel guilty about. This happens all the time - they will have a second choice or readvertise. The important thing is that you are happy now with your choice and it sounds like a good result.

Thank you soon much.I did point out the hrs of me getting up at six and home past midnight were too much and although I knew they would lessen some of my skills were nt needed so I was ultimately bored and this wouldn't change.I was told I was u professional and would be thought of badly if I couldn't do the festive period. For not much more than min wage. Then I didn't realise the other job wanted me this week as no email confirmed it.
Thanks for giving me some reassurance :)
