Picking up a parcel

I had a parcel due to be delivered today but wasn't going to be in so requested it to be delivered to local pick up point.
All fine, got the text this afternoon so went to get it from there.
When I got there and asked to pick it up it turned out I had accidentally ordered it in my maiden name.
They wouldn't give me the parcel despite me having photo ID with my address on and other cards with my maiden name on (but with no photo or address)
Fair enough I suppose. I said I'll come back tomorrow with my passport which is still in maiden name and they said no, the only way they'll release it now is if I show them my marriage certificate?!?! I've rang the delivery company and they basically say it's nothing to do with them and it's up to the collection point if they release it or not.
I have no fucking clue where my marriage certificate is (another issue in itself!) But do you think I could go back in tomorrow with passport (in maiden name) and drivers license (in married name) and say I understand it's my error but this is ridiculous, I am obviously who I say I am!!!!

Yes if either (1) it's another clerk on duty or (2) you grovel. Grovel a deep, deep grovel. Good luck.

If your pp is in your maiden name then of course they should give you it, completely ridiculous if they don't!

Replacement marriage certificate? Bit of a pricey do to collect a parcel though.

Try again tomorrow and just hand over passport. It might be a different person.

Surely the passport with maiden name is perfectly adequete? Yeah bank on it being someone else.

Can you not ask them to redeliver? Not sure if it's an option but at least then they would just be delivering it to your house, don't see why they are being that awkward when you have all the proof with your name on

And question them for reasons if they refuse.

If you don't pick up the parcel then it will be sent back and you will be refunded.
Re-order it again in the correct name

Show them your wedding ring
Take your husband and three wedding pics.
And a signed letter from at least 2 of your grandparents.
And a paw print off a family dog.
Cats will suffice if no dog.
Some people are just bloody jobsworths!!

Wtf?! They're both your names what does it matter which one you used?!

Oh, and get a duplicate marriage certificate in any case. Mild hassle, slight cost, and you might need it one day.

They said they can't redeliver. They could send it back and I can reorder it!
It is ridiculous! It was obvious that I was the person the parcel was intended for this afternoon, I don't understand what they were trying to avoid by not giving it to me and then to be more awkward about the passport! They just mustn't have liked the way I looked Confused

What shop did you drop it off in?

Guest .. I would just re-order
Their stupid rules will cost them the return postage.

Was it DPD?

I think they're being really strict but the collection point people would get fined if a mistake was made.

Surely your passport should be adequate? How would they know if you decided to keep your name?

Yes it was DPD.
