surely noone can defend that?

It's three and a half months till easter. What possible reason could there be for the supermarkets to have hot cross buns and easter eggs already?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Tue 03-Jan-17 18:56:25

They are all year long.

DameXanaduBramble Tue 03-Jan-17 18:56:52

BubbleFairy Tue 03-Jan-17 19:02:22

Hot cross buns are all year round. They've been Christmas day breakfast here for a few years.

MrsTom Tue 03-Jan-17 19:02:59

We were in WHSmith on 27th December spending the DCs Christmas vouchers and I saw a mini eggs and chocolate bunnies Easter display near the cash desk!

MrsHathaway Tue 03-Jan-17 19:26:39

I do wonder who the fuck has space to store Easter eggs for months - it's not like they're compact.

I love spiced buns and would gladly eat them all year. But why do they need the crosses on? Just sell sticky spiced fruited buns.

I have a breadmaker HCB recipe that comes out beautifully (obvs just make the dough in the breadmaker then shape and bake in the oven).

IWantATardis Tue 03-Jan-17 19:28:42

My local co-op had a display of various Easter chocolate mini eggs out 2 days after Christmas.

cardboardPeony Tue 03-Jan-17 19:30:50

Yabu because hot cross buns are delicious and I am very happy when I see them in the shops.

Redglitter Tue 03-Jan-17 19:39:49

Tesco have been selling them all year. I kept expecting them to disappear but thankfully they didn't

deeedeee Tue 03-Jan-17 19:45:30

Why can't the supermarket's just let us enjoy the time of year it actually is?

ThisIsStartingToBoreMe Tue 03-Jan-17 19:46:57

YABU - they need to sell easter related products now because at Easter they will need every inch of available floor space for Septembers new school uniforms. grin

SilentlyScreamingAgain Tue 03-Jan-17 19:47:38

How else am I supposed to manage without a couple of mince pies?

BreakfastAtSquiffanys Tue 03-Jan-17 19:48:43

No to Easter Eggs

YES to hot cross buns all year round!

MrsHathaway Tue 03-Jan-17 19:49:29

What the Jeff is wrong with a block of Dairy Milk?

ShelaghTurner Tue 03-Jan-17 19:56:14

YANBU. Bloody hot cross buns being available all year round and so bloody delicious. How's a person ever supposed to lose weight with those feckers staring up at me every time I go to Sainsbury's. I love a HCB #cries
