I regularly clean the cloth and use antiseptic spray but I would cheerfully use the same cloth for these two jobs. Gross, eh?

As long as you clean/get a new cloth regularly I don't see the problem.

That would gross me out. I saw my dad use the dishcloth (the one used for wiping the worksurfaces) to dry a frying pan the other day and that gave me the willies. Urgh.

I'm generally a laid back (ish) sort of person but hygiene I'm a bit funny with. I hate any kind of transfer of germs. It's like I can see a line of the germs and i know they're there, so when someone doesn't wash their hands after touching something gross I can "see" it on everything else.

When scraping some food or putting a wrapper in the bin, a bit of food has got on the lid, so she wiped it, just the same as when a bit spills on the surface.
I struggle to see why this is an issue for anyone without some kind of mental health issue about germs

Ew...I don't have particularly high standards but that's pretty gross.

We use sponges in the kitchen, and the sponge for general dishes/work surface wiping generally gets changed once a week ish...I tend to give the outside of the bin (all over, including the lid) a good wipe with flash, just before the sponge goes in the bin. I wouldn't be able to use it on our work tops after it's being rubbed all over the bin!

I'm not a germaphobe in the slightest. It's just in the same sort of gross as wiping the toilet then the sink sort of thing for me.
