AIBU?

'Love her' 'respect him'

Someone I used to go to school with has posted pictures of matching Tattoos saying 'Love her' (for him) and 'respect him' (for her).

It doesn't sit comfortably with me... I know it's totally up to them, not my skin or relationship but... it just seems all wrong.
The man must be respected and obeyed and the woman loved an adored... feels a bit 1950's to me.

DP says I'm massively over thinking it, I said I'd open it up to the MN jury.

AIBU?

I'm with you. "Respect him" bollocks to that. Sounds controlling and weird.

Bit sad for him if she doesn't love him, but he loves her.

I think matching tattoos are pretty grim whatever they say.

If you have to have matching tats Hmm they should be equal - love and respect for both or better still, don't have them at all
