Can my glasses be saved? I was getting ready and he was playing quietly at my feet, i know i should of moved them out his reach but i was just about to put them on after i got dressed. He has snapped the leg clean off the frame. The small screw is still attatched to the leg

Fucks sake Dan.
A friendly optician may be able to fix for you.

You've really done it this time, Dan.

Not angry, just disappointed.

If Dan is the dog, you must instantly forgive his sad face and big brown eyes.

If Dan is your husband, D-I-V-O-R-C-E.

Would you be able to superglue?

Report
mistrals · 01/01/2017 13:02

Looks as though he's snapped the half joint so not generally repairable I'm afraid. You'll need a new frame.

I have no superglue but i wouldnt want to attempt it in case i didnt glue it properly

I know this won't help today but my opticians are fab at fixing all sorts of snapped legs for free normally.

Has any of the plastic snapped? I'm guessing so. Superglue may well be your friend!

I think they're Dan for. It is either a new pair or Elastoplast and go for Jack Duckworth chic.

Don't use superglue, you'll probably end up with it on the lenses too and might not be able to use them in a replacement frame, it doesn't even stick frames for long.

I'm an optician and if I had a pound for every pair of damaged specs further damaged by superglue...Grin

I did that to mine. They are super glued.

You need a new frame front. It looks like the side has come away from the front.
Take it back to the opticians and they might have the same frame to repair it with.

BewtySkoolDropowt · 01/01/2017 13:13

Stick them together with sellotape a la Jack Duckworth temporarily till you get to an optician xx

OMG, I just used kisses! If Hugs are unmumsnetty what are kisses?

They are NOT for Dan. He is not getting kisses after what he did.
