that contains easy to make recipes using everyday ingredients that will satisfy a very fussy 6 year old, a 9 year old and two adults, preferably with lots of recipes using chicken, eggs, fish, pasta, potatoes. Really like the kind of recipes on the tasty/really tasty Facebook pages - can anyone recommend anything??

Nosh for Busy Mums and Dads.

Crap title, but loads of recipes that go down well with everyone I've made them for, young and old.

The home cook book by Monty and Sarah Don. Bought it on sale and have found it very useful for everyday dinners, like fish pie.

I really like a book called 'Comfort Food' by Bridget Jones (not that Bridget Jones - a real non-fiction contributing editor of the same name!) Not a single duff recipe in there so far and I've been using it for years.

I have dozens of cookbooks and I use this more than any other for simple uncomplicated family recipes. Designed to be quick and easy yet interesting and tasty. I bought it after flicking through it in a waiting room and have now bought several as presents for friends who have also raved about it.

I adore Nigella but I don't honestly think it's what you're looking for here. Jamie's ministry of food is a good option too but Mary Gwynn (above) is my number one recommendation.

Piggy backing onto the this, I would like a book with weekly meal plans and a shopping list. And none of the meals can take hours to prep/cook and fancy ingredients should be kept to a minimum. Does such a thing exist?

BBC Good Food website is amazing (sorry I know it's not a book as you asked for but it's totally reliable and it's great to have the comments to read too).

Ministry of Food is great. Also a book called "My Daddy Cooks" bought as a slightly jokey present for DH from the DCs. I recommend looking in your local library at a few books and trying out some of the recipes before buying.

This is brilliant if you want a very simple cook book. My kids are fussy and this was good to get them to eat stuff.
