To think I wasn't unreasonable to go home

Walk dogs through an agency. Turned up at 6 am today (up at half five) to walk first dog, no one answers. I waited 10 mins then went.

Text from the agency 3 hours later 'when are you going back to dog no1?'

AIBU to think no you missed your slot!?

If 6am was the time specified then you're not being unreasonable at all!

Quite right. They missed their slot and you should still get paid as you turned up!

Why didn't they answer, do you know. If there's a good reason, I'd go, if not and the owners can't physically walk the dog, I'd expect extra payment.

Did they actually know you were coming at 6am? On Boxing Day? confused

Yep, 6 am.

I don't know why either. They just slept in.

Did you leave a calling card, or text your agency theres no reply and you are going to no.2.

There's no evidence of you actually being there at 6am.

msgrumpy16 Mon 26-Dec-16 13:21:08

Yes I did both. Note through door texted the agency.

Absolutely they missed their slot. If you book someone for 6 a.m. it's rude to waste their time, and expect them to waste even more time because you failed to get out of bed.

Anyway, unless they're working today, surely they can walk their own dogs.

They missed their slot. Do they expect you to lean on the doorbell for an hour until you've fulfilled your time obligation?

You are entitled to your money - you turned up, they couldn't arsed.

No they missed it. Unless there was an emergency ( taken to hospital, someone dying) then it's their tough luck! Should have set their alarm ( or several like i do grin)
