AIBU?

To tell you all this

I freely admit this is a bit boasting. (A bit?) But I'm so proud and so pleased, just had to share.

DS's Christmas gift to me was two songs that he had recorded himself - him on guitar, him singing, and he'd somehow downloaded some kind of music mixing software, so they were properly recorded. He told me he'd done the guitar first, then recorded the singing over top of it. On the second song he's managed to harmonize with himself!!!

AIBU to have cried?

Not at all boasty, it's lovely.

My DS is a composer and musician and frequently writes songs for me Xmas Blush He never really understands why this means so much to me.

It's brilliant he has taken the time to do this for you Xmas Smile

That's lovely! I would cry too, as would my mum. My DB painted some things for my mum one year, she loved it.

He's twelve :) And he has a lovely voice. His guitar playing has come along so well too! He's teaching himself - he got the guitar for Christmas last year :)

california I'm a music teacher in a secondary school and would be delighted if my students were putting together tracks using their own initiative, like the OP's DS. It would upset me if some parents had your attitude towards music making.

OP your son is great! :)
