Just sat down to wrap Christmas presents and start prep for Christmas Dinner. Poured myself a glass of red and cracked open a chocolate orange. What the hell has happened to it???? The segments are tiny and appeared to have been slightly hollowed. The flavour appears to have been mondelez'd sad

Is nothing scared anymore??????

iwilldoit30 Sat 24-Dec-16 19:09:06

I hope not!!!

If so we must start a riot! The one thing I love the most aswel, they better not have messed with it!

Dahlietta Sat 24-Dec-16 19:20:59

Dear gods, it appears to be true!

Dahlietta Sat 24-Dec-16 19:21:30

(Not that I doubted you OP, I was just hoping you had a dud!)

LemonRedwood Sat 24-Dec-16 19:22:30

They taste horrible now. Nothing like they used to, and there's no longer that delicious wodge of chocolate in the middle that held the whole thing together sad

OopsDearyMe Sat 24-Dec-16 19:23:20

What the ? First quality street and now bleeding chic oranges! They are different manufacturers tho right?

I know kraft took over cadburys but did Terrys go?

Cherrysoup Sat 24-Dec-16 19:24:45

There's no wodge in the middle, merely a thin spindle like affair, as I discovered to my absolute horror when the OH bought five on the cheap the other day and I had one for lunch. That's normal, right? It doesn't taste awful, but it's not the same. sad

GlitterGlue Sat 24-Dec-16 19:24:54

They're rank now. Fucking palm oil.

Wolfiefan Sat 24-Dec-16 19:25:28

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I have one hidden for my exclusive enjoyment later. Bastards!!!
Will all the companies just stop ruining all the chocolate. NOW!!!!

TheChippendenSpook Sat 24-Dec-16 19:26:23

It hasn't been the same for years. No chocolate has. It's a sad sad world!

Graphista Sat 24-Dec-16 19:27:43

Oh bugger this is dds choc treat for Christmas which she normally loves. Poor kid.

LemonRedwood Sat 24-Dec-16 19:32:19

Cherrysoup Completely normal, yes. Mine was dinner grin

Tumtitum Sat 24-Dec-16 19:33:35

Christmas is ruined!!! 😱

whyohwhy000 Sat 24-Dec-16 19:38:17

It's almost as bad as Toblerone.

luckylucky24 Sat 24-Dec-16 19:40:53

They taste like crap sad

TwentyChews Sat 24-Dec-16 19:41:09

No!!! Father Christmas brings us all one. Even a couple of spare for any stray guests!

AccioWine Sat 24-Dec-16 19:48:42

Oh no, please don't say that - It's the "orange" in our stockings!
First they mess with Toblerone, now it's the chocolate orange! Is nothing sacred?! shock

OublietteBravo Sat 24-Dec-16 19:53:15

They're made by Mondolez these days I think.

Chocolate + citrus fruit is wrong - I've never liked them.

LobsterQuadrille Sat 24-Dec-16 19:58:08

Oddly, this has made me feel better as I ate a whole one today and didn't get the chocolate fix I was anticipating. I therefore continued with chocolate biscuits.

jugotmail Sat 24-Dec-16 19:58:45

My husband is going to be very disappointed tomorrow, he always has one at xmas but no longer. The choc is crap and greasy, size is reduced and the middle is missing. Boooooo

Miserylovescompany2 Sat 24-Dec-16 19:58:56

Terry can have it back...

blowmybarnacles Sat 24-Dec-16 19:59:57

Its the cheap nasty palm oil isn't it.? Co-op fair trade chocolate is free from palm oil, I was delighted to discover recently. Doesn't help you right now Op, sorry.

bluebeck Sat 24-Dec-16 20:02:15

Mine tastes just the same as usual confused

LemonRedwood Sat 24-Dec-16 20:15:25

blowmybarnacles Yep, that'll be it. That's pretty much what did for Dairy Milk too. Makes it impossible to make modelling chocolate with dairy milk now too. Awful stuff and destroys habitats too sad
