Christmas preorder at local Morrisons: totally disorganised

Ordered Christmas food for collection at my local Morrisons at 11 am today, 24 December, two weeks ago. They give you a half an hour collection slot- AIBU to expect to be actually collect my food during this time? Did this as I thought it would save time! Have been waiting in customer service queue for over 50 minutes and it is barely moving. They are completely disorganised and unprepared. Never ordering Morrisons again! How long is everyone waiting at other supermarkets? Local Morrisons don't even have a system where you hand in your order code so you can go shopping for other stuff. You are literally stuck in the queue. Would have been much less painful to go to another supermarket yesterday or day before and just buy the stuff. I picked up other stuff yesterday and yes it was busy, but staff were helpful. How long is a reasonable time to wait? Have prepaid 30 per cent of the order.

I picked up my food from Morrisons - it was a breeze. Arrived early for my slot which wasn't a problem for the lovely woman who served me, I waited for about 5 mins in the collection queue, and off I went to the tills. Sorry you had a poor experience.

Are you gonna complain? I think it's really unorganised.

I was in Waitrose this morn and saw that the pre-order queue was obscene - well over an hour's wait at best. It's not really good enough as totally negates the point of pre-ordering really.

Maybe you're in our local Morrisons! Took Dh 2 hours to collect ours yesterday. He had both kids with him, he was not impressed. Good luck!

Just popped there today. Got two pack of bacon, got home and they are out of date! Angry

Sainsbury's the same yesterday for DH....and a substitution of carrot and swede mash for bags of carrot and swede....which we then have to cook/mash. The whole point of pre-order was that we are feeding the whole family so want it easy. At least I still got the turkey!

I stopped pre ordering for just this problem at Sainsbury's so its not just the store.

It's quicker to just shop yourself but go early or late.

Same happened to me last year. 45 mins wait, disgruntled customers, hopeless flapping staff.

So help me, I decided to give them another chance this year - worse! This year we were led to CHAIRS to await our order - which was a very bad sign, I thought.

I can't bring myself to describe the disasters which followed, but we left over an hour later, minus one of the things we had ordered, which they either 'couldn't find' or 'didn't have'. What exactly is the point of ordering in advance if they then don't have the item in for you??

Someone waiting for their own order declared she worked for Morrisons 'upstairs' and that she had expected the stuff to be laid out in paniers before the customer arrived to pick up. She was now wondering if they only pick the order ready to go once the customer arrives.

It was utter chaos and I really mean it this year, never again!

Luckily Tesco do it right, and have your order waiting to go in named carton in a dedicated chiller. I prefer Tesco's stuff anyway so I'm kicking myself for being seduced by the lure of a Morrisons Meat Platter and Christmas Tree Dessert (which looked nice but was sickly.)

We've always ordered at M and S before-never had a substitution but they are expensive and I really couldn't run to M and S prices for 11. Definitely won't bother with Sainsbury's again.

Same problem at Waitrose here, well over an hours wait but no substitutes, this was yesterday.

Glorious Lidl was empty this morning.

Got everything we needed in 15 minutes.

Bugger. I only went to Waitrose for pre order for the convenience. LIdl goose was good when we cooked it the other week for a Xmas party.

Been burned too many times with preorders that I just shop myself now a fe days before.

Just nipped intoy local tesco today for a prescription and it was no busier than a usual Saturday and a quick look around tells me I would have been able to buy everything I needed for Christmas there and then.

Went to Sainsbury's yesterday to collect a pre-order, no queue at all, straight up and collected!

Same here! Waited in a gigantic queue. Surly shop assistant pulling obvious pissed of faces and snapping at customers.
Waited 40mins and didn't have one of the items I ordered Hmm
