So fucking cross with dd9
She has had a retainer brace since march, first one has had about 4 weeks then while on holiday she took it out at dinner in restaurant wrapped in napkin and left on table... of cause when we went back when we realised it had been binned! So I had to pay for replacement.
So today she has just come to me saying she doesn't know where it is, retraced her steps and asked her if she took it out when eating chocolate in town and if so what did she do with it... of course she put in coat pocket! The same coat that's on her bedroom floor and of course she has had friend over and the coat has been trod on and the retainer is now broke in two!
Yesterday morning I woke up and found the fucking thing in bed with me!
She is a nightmare, just abandons shoes, coats, toys where ever.
Her teeth really do need early intervention to hopefully prevent very intense treatment when older but she just doesn't seem to be able to grasp the importance
And I can bloody afford to replace again 
I really just need to rant

I was exactly like this at 10 - I hated my retainer. After a couple of losses and breakages we went straight to "train tracks" and everyone (including me) was a lot happier.
I got through glasses like nobodies business too. 
Awww I had one in my teens and it was awful. I did what she did and my mother eventually gave up lol. So glad she did as I have all four wisdom teeth fully through and they had room to do so so all my unfinished gaps filled in! 
3luckystars I can't remember exactly but around £70-80, if they get lost/broke you have to pay to replace.
I do remind her, always saying where's your brace/ is your brace in/ put it in etc but I am not with her all the time at school etc
Just wearing at night isn't a option, she has to wear 24 hours a day and the orthodontist said she should eat with it in to be she hates that, so I don't mind her taking it out to eat but it's just she really just dumps it anywhere I.e I found it in my bed the other morning when I woke or find in in her lunchbox under all her rubbish and she has boxes... she has 10 of them.
Because of the problems she will be wearing a brace of some sort until she is as least 15/16 and possibly longer.
My older dd was 11 when she got her twin blocks for her overbite, they were amazing and within 8 months she had her tracks fitted.
I know she is young and I'm prob annoyed not just about her brace but about how forgetful/dizzy and possibly lazy she is all the time, she is honestly a nightmare, dumps anything where ever, make s drink leaves squash on side with lid of instead of just popping back into the cupboard she is stood at 
Today I found some of her toys in my room popped them trough the door of her room and told her to put away, half hour later I went to change her little sisters bed ( the bottom bunk) and found those toys shovered under the quilt at the bottom of the bed 
seriously it must of took her longer to do that and put the teddies back than it would of to walk 3 paces and pop in the toy box!
