That's it really.

I'm interested in your opinion.

YABU

I live in the south and I do not feel that I am better than anyone else.

Yes we do. All of us. Southern drones.

Why do you think that?

Report
SmallBee · 19/12/2016 01:12

Not really. Why do you want to know?

We do think we're warmer...

Yes, totally. I don't just think it, I know it. I'm better than everyone.

Or really I've never thought about it at all. I live here because this is where I've always lived, it doesn't make me better than anyone who lives anywhere else.

Why would I think I would be better due to where I live?

Why do think that?

Well if they do think that then they are deluding themselves. The north is clearly better Wink

We think what the messages silently beamed from Big Ben tell us to think

EatsShitAndLeaves · 19/12/2016 01:20

Why do I think that?

Answer: experience.

Experience?

Nah. I think the messages being transmitted to your mind from the Blackpool tower have gone squirly.

'Am I being unreasonable that people in the south think they are better than those in the north?'

That isn't a sentence. I think my grammar is better than that, yes.

When you say North, you mean anything north of London right? Grin

SuffolkBumkin · 19/12/2016 01:24

I know what you mean op. I have heard a few Hmm things said over the years. Even a few threads here, one asking if a southerner would be accepted if the moved up north!

Those in the midlands have it the worse; their existence is known to neither

😂

They love it. They can get up to all sorts undetected by human eyes 😄

asking if a southerner would be accepted if the moved up north!

A perfectly reasonable question imo. Us northerners don't tend to like outsiders very much.

Depends.
Do you live in Glasgow and wonder what people in Manchester think of people in Henley-on-Thames or do you live in Niger and wonder what people in Milan think of people in Santander?

Manumission · 19/12/2016 01:28

I'm nowhere near Big Ben. I thought we were doing huge, ridiculous "North" and "South" generalisations? 🙂

Or are you the only one with a permit for that? 🙄

DarthPlagueis · 19/12/2016 01:28

Yup, and if you're outside of London, the South East or East Anglia we pay for you too, all the rest of the country are in net tax deficit.

But in reality of course no right minded person thinks they are better because of where they live. There is snobbery on both sides, both wrong.

OP: do people in the north think that people in the south think that they're better than those in the north?

Or do people in the north think that they're better than people in the south?

Sigh - let's just denigrate the argument.

My own experience is that people who live south of the Watford Gap think they are "better" than those who live above it.

I'm a northerner living in the south! My family are all northerners living in the north.

I don't think that I am better than them but they think that I think I am better than them.
