... for her children. She says they deserve a great Christmas but wouldn't they be equally as happy with, say, 10 presents?

EB123 Wed 14-Dec-16 20:02:59

So that she can go to the press about it?

Titsywoo Wed 14-Dec-16 20:03:19

They'll forget most of them and never play with them. It's too much.

backaftera2yearbreak Wed 14-Dec-16 20:04:07

Probably because she wants to. Why do you care?

PerryHatter Wed 14-Dec-16 20:04:37

She can afford it and she wants to.

Ohyesiam Wed 14-Dec-16 20:05:02

That's oddly disproportionate. Don't think that sort of ott would do the kids an y good in the long run. Not that I've read the link....

Hassled Wed 14-Dec-16 20:05:17

Clickable link. That's just barking mad. In fairness the presents look quite small - she's not buying whopping great big things. But still - barking mad. And it's like she has something to prove - but what? I've no idea. Do people really give that much of a toss about the size of the pile?

RosieMapleLeaf Wed 14-Dec-16 20:06:07

I'm amazed she could find 100 presents each! I struggled to get to 5.

user1477282676 Wed 14-Dec-16 20:06:15

It's an emotional problem...some sort of issue within her. I used to go way over the top though not to that extent.

I grew up in a happy but poor family.

I married DH, who is from a middle class family...he helped me to see sense and now my DC get about ten gifts each.

I used to literally buy crap just to swell the pile. Four dolls, three different sets of lego, at least two physcially large gifts.....mine would have about 40 to 50 gifts each and that was before they were 8.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe Wed 14-Dec-16 20:06:28

Becsus she wants to prove to herself what a brilliant parent she is.

Sad, really.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid Wed 14-Dec-16 20:06:36

Doesn't sound like a good idea IMO

100 toys is a ridiculous amount

PickAChew Wed 14-Dec-16 20:07:26

Where the hell do you hide them all?

DixieNormas Wed 14-Dec-16 20:08:32

300 presents and spent £1500. Buying for the sake of it

TheWitTank Wed 14-Dec-16 20:10:00

I genuinely don't think I could find 100 presents my two would want! Is most of it just crap?

QueenArseClangers Wed 14-Dec-16 20:10:06

Bet she's got rats living in that mountain of tat. Or a lost child.

Artandco Wed 14-Dec-16 20:12:10

It also says they haven't opened or used some from last year still

Crumbs1 Wed 14-Dec-16 20:12:26

If they opened one present every, say three minutes, that would be 300 minutes without allowing for loo trips, looking what others have etc. That's 5 hours of present opening. Disgusting greed and consumerism with none of the joy of seeing everyone else's excitement and none of the pleasure of giving. Poor kids.

Shoppingahoy Wed 14-Dec-16 20:13:46

Her choice. Why are you so bothered?

GlitterGlue Wed 14-Dec-16 20:15:39

I think she's going to be on the expensive Christmas programme on C4 tonight.

That many presents for a Toddler, in particular, is wasteful and insane.

amispartacus Wed 14-Dec-16 20:16:14

I'm just wondering how she found the time to wrap them all. Plus the effect of this at school on her children.

rumpelstiltskin43 Wed 14-Dec-16 20:16:54

Because she's doing it all for appearances and "bragging rights".
Because she thinks material things make her a "good" mother.
Because she's a shallow idiot.

BrieAndChilli Wed 14-Dec-16 20:18:43

Mine get about 20-25 presents from family and about 10 from us and santa plus a stocking of small bits like choc/socks/toothbrush/pens etc and I thought that was a lot!

OopsDearyMe Wed 14-Dec-16 20:23:31

Maybe like me that's how she was shown love by her parents and doesn't know how else to. I wld never go quite that far, but I am a sucker for wanting to buy everything they want.

LilQueenie Wed 14-Dec-16 20:23:50

its because she bargain hunts and stockpiles essentials. The gifts include toilietries and clothing. Whatever the kids need for the year. She also runs a money saving website to help others save hence why she can afford to do what she does.

stargirl1701 Wed 14-Dec-16 20:24:15

Horrendous. If she wants to spend £1500, she should. But not on a mountain of what looks like plastic crap. The Earth cannot sustain shit like this.
