I must confess to enjoying a large small sherry in front of the open fire now that the cold weather is here.

Evidently my rock-chick credentials are now lost. Is there anything else I ought to be doing?

Crochet? grin

ghostyslovesheets Tue 29-Nov-16 22:44:41

really you should have been in bed an hour ago

Euphemia Tue 29-Nov-16 22:44:58

Fuck off crochet! Crochet does not make one past it! It's the latest cool and funky thing! angrygrin

VanillaSugarAndChristmasSpice Tue 29-Nov-16 22:45:45

Pipe and slippers. And a rocking chair.

Wookiecookies Tue 29-Nov-16 22:45:59

I watch finger waggy reality tv. So that I can rattle on like an old harpy (thanks Matthew Wright) at the tv, and put the world to rights. No one is listening of course, but who cares? grinhalo

Tweed Slippers and brocade dressing gown on as well ?

JunosRevenge Tue 29-Nov-16 22:49:02

Nope. Sheepskin boots and a woollen wrap!

I'd love to be able to crochet - never mastered it, alas. I can knit though grin

Wookiecookies Tue 29-Nov-16 22:49:29

That may be true Euphemia, but it depends what you are crocheting, if its toilet dollies, then you are well past it. If its some kind of subversive sweary hipster cushion, woven from the silkiest mens beards, conditioned exclusively with peruvian macadamia oil, then, you may just be clinging onto the edges of youth. grin

I had a friend who used to wear a gold bikini with a long (knee-length) crocheted waistcoat and knee-high boots for clubbing. She looked amazing!

JunosRevenge Tue 29-Nov-16 22:53:15

*Toilet dollies

Euphemia Tue 29-Nov-16 22:54:24

I crochet baby blankets, throws, scarves, hats, flowers for brooches. No toilet doilies yet!

- put your nightie on the radiator while you are in the bath
- get a tea cosy
- have a favourite programme on the wireless and settle down to it 2 minutes early
- get a bit flustered when you get a voicemail; and when you return the call, explain exactly what you were doing when you missed the original call, including a long preamble about why you were doing this thing at a slightly different time from last week

Wookiecookies Tue 29-Nov-16 22:57:40

maudlin. a crocheted tea cosy? grin

JunosRevenge Tue 29-Nov-16 23:00:42

Haha maudlin my FIL does the voicemail thing (with VERY long preambles!)

No tea cosy here yet. But I do listen to the Archers smile

Wookiecookies Tue 29-Nov-16 23:01:30

Now this I could buy into euphemia grin

SabineUndine Tue 29-Nov-16 23:02:11

Wookiecookies Tue 29-Nov-16 23:02:22

The archers? Oh dear op I fear you may be beyond all help. grin

JunosRevenge Tue 29-Nov-16 23:02:28

Wookiecookies Tue 29-Nov-16 23:04:14

Wookiecookies Tue 29-Nov-16 23:06:34

JunosRevenge Tue 29-Nov-16 23:08:34

What a bloody great idea! Too-Cold red wine makes me very sad ... perhaps I should have a go at the crochet thing again!

Gingernaut Tue 29-Nov-16 23:10:43
