AIBU?

To wonder why anyone would order from an Avon person?

Got a thing through 'orders collected Nov 27th for delivery Dec 16th'

Why would you wait 2 weeks when you can go online and get your items delivered within a couple of days? And you know if they are in stock or not immediately?

I don't get it :/

It's not for me. I'd rather go to Superdrug, look at the items properly, spend less and have my items instantly.

Because some people don't like shopping online/don't have a computer, and like the products, like to support folk who are trying to earn a living. Some people can't get out to the shops, for some the Avon lady might be the only person they talk to that week.

Avon people give you 10-20% off your order and more often than not a free gift for going through them, not to mention free delivery...

Because I flick through the book that's lying in my work canteen during my lunch hour and just write down the stuff I like and before you know it I've orders £30 of stuff I had no intention of buying Blush

My friends Mum buys from an Avon lady.

DH of Avonlady died completely unexpectedly & she likes to keep busy, get out of the house & feel wanted.

Friends Mum assists by buying.

Because I like their products. I order things in advance of needing them so it doesn't matter that they take a couple of weeks to come.

I buy primarily cos I think their make up is a reasonable price for the quality of get. I buy from a rep cos it's convenient and she's trying to earn a living.m

Because it's free postage if I order from a rep and she delivers at a time I know I'll be home. And she always puts freebies in. Plus she's lovely.

Because I like to support the lady who does our local Avon.

My NDN does Avon I order from her. Don't mind the wait as I order crap really.

To support the lady who drops the catalogues off. She has a young family and works part time in a minimum wage job. I am more than capable of going shopping and buying these goods or shopping on line but as I can also afford to put a bit of business her way in the hope that she can earn a little extra money then why not?

Because my Avon lady is also a very good friend who I've known for many years (long before she did Avon) and she uses the little bit of money she earns from it to pay for her DS to go to nursery for a few hours each week. Yes I could probably buy the same stuff cheaper elsewhere but I would rather see the money go into her pocket.

I used to do Avon and a lot of my customers were infirm or elderly so it was a lifeline for them. I felt I offered a good service and I was honest.

Because one of my team is an 'Avon Lady' and she's a single mum who has always tried so hard to look after her & her kids, I like to support her how I can. Plus I like the testers & free gifts!! And shampoo & conditioner really suits my hair.

As others have said I like to support the lovely local Avon rep. Also, I often forget I've ordered things so it's a nice surprise when they come.

I begrudge spending £2.50 on delivery even if I have just spent £40 on bits I dont need
I like looking through the book, I order through a friend, who orders from the avon lady cos she doesnt deliver to my area and I cba finding someone that does or paying delivery Grin

Because if I need to buy make up I'd rather support a friend while doing it. Also Avon stuff is really good quality, far better than high st stuff

I have a couple of products I like from Avon, and stock up when they are on offer so am not usually in a rush to get them.
If this supports someone trying to earn a few extra pennies, I'm happy to do it.

I've ordered from Avon on line once and it never arrived so had to be resent and then was too late, so less convenient than an Avon rep.

Report
ENormaSnob · 29/11/2016 23:02

I do it to support the local woman that sells avon.

Report
Honeydragon · 29/11/2016 23:02

Because the products in the books and offers are available before they go on line. The online store runs at least one campaign behind the books.

Often there are specials you can't get on line too. I like that Avon look after their reps this way Smile

do they still have the 'pretty peach' stuff?
I so wanted that when I was little but DM never bought from the avon catalogue!

Report

I loved pretty peach...also had a white plastic bunny who dispensed talcum powder from his pink fluffy tail oh the weird shit that lodges in my hard-drive when I can't remember the stuff I actually need to

I've never had discount or freebies! And if I want a sample I get charged for it...
