Woman moving dirty plates onto MY table...

In cafe today (with friend) sat at one side of a table for 4.
There was another table for 4 next to us which had plates/ wrappers/ teacups on it waiting to be cleared.
A woman and her DH came along and cleared the stuff off the table next to us onto the side of ours before sitting down.
AIBU to think WTF? They had a nice clean table for 4 between the two of them and we aquired a load of dirty plates next to us.
was I wrong to get up and put it all back on their table?
Still cross now...

I'd have put it back in her lap... why didn't you say something?

ScarletForYa Sun 27-Nov-16 22:59:16

Please tell me you said something?

I can't take another I don't like confrontation thread.

rightguard Sun 27-Nov-16 22:59:48

Someone did this to me once.

I was very passive aggressive and gave them a look, piled up the plates and took them to the counter myself.

I like to think they realised how unreasonable they had been by my withering look and muttering under my breath. <probably didn't and thought I was a bonkers person huffing at them>

Scrumptiousbears Sun 27-Nov-16 23:00:28

Think I'd have asked them what they expected me to do with them. Entitled people piss me right off.

JellyBelli Sun 27-Nov-16 23:00:42

She was clearly trying to start a fight. Theres no other rational explanation.

SortAllTheThings Sun 27-Nov-16 23:01:40

I hope you dumped the plates right back on their table?

Ohdearducks Sun 27-Nov-16 23:01:58

Cheeky bitch! She didn't want dirty plates near her but it's ok to dump them next to you? Nope, just fuck off with that nonsense right now.

scootinFun Sun 27-Nov-16 23:02:08

So, did you put them back on their table? What an odd thing for her to do!

pipsqueak25 Sun 27-Nov-16 23:02:37

i would have put them back on her table - bolshey cow me grin

elodie2000 Sun 27-Nov-16 23:05:10

I looked at my friend shock, got up and put it all back on their table! I then put my bag on the other half of ou'our' table. BUT, I didn't look at them! Passive aggressive me.
I heard mumbling and complaining coming from the woman.
WHY would she do that? Are people really so unaware?

elodie2000 Sun 27-Nov-16 23:06:07

Ohdearducks gringringrin

VeryBitchyRestingFace Sun 27-Nov-16 23:07:33

I would have said forcefully politely,

"Excuse me, I think you've made a mistake. These aren't ours."

Then move them back.

QueenMortificado Sun 27-Nov-16 23:08:06

Good work OP!!

I fucking hate threads after the event that said "should I have done XYZ?". Yes you fucking should have done. Grow a pair and act like an adult not like a puppy who's afraid of being kicked.

People are cheeky bastards when other people let them get away with it.

ozymandiusking Sun 27-Nov-16 23:12:59

I was absolutely speechless reading this. I would have said, " what the fuck do you think you are doing?" she wouldn't have had chance to finish moving them, before I put them back. Cheeky bitch.

elodie2000 Sun 27-Nov-16 23:13:44

Queen I've really just come on here for a moan... I've been complaining to anyone who'll listen all afternoon. We were in John Lewis cafe. The man was wearing salmon chinos and brogues FGS. I'm still so cross.

QueenMortificado Sun 27-Nov-16 23:14:25

I'm saying good work for saying something OP! Wasn't having a go smile

scootinFun Sun 27-Nov-16 23:15:18

Salmon chinos - enough said!

elodie2000 Sun 27-Nov-16 23:15:49

ozy I think some people are so intent on having their own needs met that they can't see anyone else around them. angry

Arfarfanarf Sun 27-Nov-16 23:16:16

Bloody well done putting them straight back on their table.
What on earth was she thinking?
I dont want other peoples dirty plateson my table so i will move them to the table those two people are at
Wtf?

And then to grumble about it like you were being unreasonable 😂

TheMortificadosDragon Sun 27-Nov-16 23:17:35

Is this a moan or a stealth boast that you actually did what most of us would have wanted to do but been too scared overly polite to do?grin

elodie2000 Sun 27-Nov-16 23:18:02

Oh I know Queen ! It didn't come accross that way! smile

elodie2000 Sun 27-Nov-16 23:19:33
