AIBU?

Woman moving dirty plates onto MY table...

In cafe today (with friend) sat at one side of a table for 4.
There was another table for 4 next to us which had plates/ wrappers/ teacups on it waiting to be cleared.
A woman and her DH came along and cleared the stuff off the table next to us onto the side of ours before sitting down.
AIBU to think WTF? They had a nice clean table for 4 between the two of them and we aquired a load of dirty plates next to us.
was I wrong to get up and put it all back on their table?
Still cross now...

I'd have put it back in her lap... why didn't you say something?

Please tell me you said something?

I can't take another I don't like confrontation thread.

Someone did this to me once.

I was very passive aggressive and gave them a look, piled up the plates and took them to the counter myself.

I like to think they realised how unreasonable they had been by my withering look and muttering under my breath.

Think I'd have asked them what they expected me to do with them. Entitled people piss me right off.

She was clearly trying to start a fight. Theres no other rational explanation.

I hope you dumped the plates right back on their table?

Cheeky bitch! She didn't want dirty plates near her but it's ok to dump them next to you? Nope, just fuck off with that nonsense right now.

So, did you put them back on their table? What an odd thing for her to do!

I looked at my friend Shock, got up and put it all back on their table! I then put my bag on the other half of ou'our' table. BUT, I didn't look at them! Passive aggressive me.
I heard mumbling and complaining coming from the woman.
WHY would she do that? Are people really so unaware?

I would have said forcefully politely,

"Excuse me, I think you've made a mistake. These aren't ours."

Then move them back.

Good work OP!!

I fucking hate threads after the event that said "should I have done XYZ?". Yes you fucking should have done. Grow a pair and act like an adult not like a puppy who's afraid of being kicked.

People are cheeky bastards when other people let them get away with it.

I was absolutely speechless reading this. I would have said, " what the fuck do you think you are doing?" she wouldn't have had chance to finish moving them, before I put them back. Cheeky bitch.

Queen I've really just come on here for a moan... I've been complaining to anyone who'll listen all afternoon. We were in John Lewis cafe. The man was wearing salmon chinos and brogues FGS. I'm still so cross.

Is this a moan or a stealth boast that you actually did what most of us would have wanted to do but been too scared overly polite to do?Grin

I'm glad you put it back on their table because like ScarletForYa, I'm not sure I could take another 'I don't like confrontation' thread either Grin

I'm confused as to why you used the strike through though, as it's pretty central to the story Confused
