To think that appointing frog-face Farage as ambassador would be the worst thing ever?

Does anyone actually think this is advisable? I know it won't happen, but I've just seen his horrible face all over the news talking about this.

YANBU. Horrid man.

It's a ridiculous idea.
It's ridiculous that Trump would even suggest it publicly.
It's ridiculous that it's had so much media coverage!

squoosh Tue 22-Nov-16 22:23:14

It's ridiculous the amount if oxygen that the media gives to the Farage Self Promotion Machine. The twat can't even manage to get himself elected to parliament.

AuntMabel Tue 22-Nov-16 22:23:18

YANBU. Odious little twerp.

We have a perfectly good ambassador - Kim Darroch. I know nothing more about him than his Wiki page but he certainly doesn't lack experience at diplomacy. God knows what he's thinking now.

Yanbu just when one thinks Farage has gone, he's back. (Well never really went away). I feel like he's relishing his moment in the sun. I feel like Farage is never going to go away. Bluerghh all that cosying up to Trump.

ThoraGruntwhistle Tue 22-Nov-16 22:27:41

I really hope the govt dig their heels in over this and don't start taking orders from Trump. Farage is the creepiest little shit and shouldn't even be an MEP with the amount of contempt he's shown for the position, let alone becoming chief UK toady to a right wing president.

schmack Tue 22-Nov-16 22:29:32

ludicrous and laughable

BarbarianMum Tue 22-Nov-16 22:31:34

I can't stand Nigel Farrage but my main objection would be the idea of another government telling ours who to appoint to represent us.

Valentine2 Tue 22-Nov-16 22:33:05

Don't know how that post happened blush
Back to your post op, I cringe when I look at him. The vile things that he says are just so annoying. Imagine Trump having a nuke button around him and Farage in the vicinity.

Manumission Tue 22-Nov-16 22:36:08

It's embarrassing how little grasp of diplomacy Farage is showing by publicly angling for a post that isn't vacant.

Manumission Tue 22-Nov-16 22:36:28

Like a bad joke.

squoosh Tue 22-Nov-16 22:36:38

Farage is as likely to bed the newly single Angelina Jolie as he is to become the British ambassador to the US.

CockacidalManiac Tue 22-Nov-16 22:37:32

Farage is as likely to bed the newly single Angelina Jolie as he is to become the British ambassador to the US.

Insert William Hague joke here.

tooyoungtobeagrandma Tue 22-Nov-16 22:37:35

I'm going to go against the grain here. The UK could do with every friend they can get and if Farage has got the ear of the most powerful man in the western world, then lets take advantage.

CockacidalManiac Tue 22-Nov-16 22:39:00

What? By appointing a racist to one of the most important ambassadorial positions? Someone who sang nazi songs at school, and was disliked by his teachers and classmates for being a nasty little fascist?

Mondegreens Tue 22-Nov-16 22:40:17

I'm going to assume you're being ironic, grandma.

PopGoesTheWeaz Tue 22-Nov-16 22:40:21

It also just highlights how little Trump understands of international policy. Ambassadors are a country's representative abroad. Why would the government appoint someone clearly at odds with their objectives.

squoosh Tue 22-Nov-16 22:40:45

Oh yeah because Trump is such a reclusive flower that we need Farage to act as a go between.

Trump can't wait for his photo op outside 10 Downing Street.

PopGoesTheWeaz Tue 22-Nov-16 23:18:12

Nah, no money to be made at #10

JellyBelli Tue 22-Nov-16 23:24:35

Farage is openly sexist and racist. It doesnt surprise me that Trump likes him.
How is Trump the most powerful man in the Western world? The USA is bankrupt, it will never clear off its national debt.

ego147 Tue 22-Nov-16 23:30:42

This would never happen in the West Wing
