AIBU?

AIBU to ask if Jo Malone perfumes are worth it?

This really. I really like two of their fragrances but they're so much more expensive that my usual perfume.
Does anyone really rate them? Does the scent last on you all day?

I had a spritz at selfridges but had been (stupidly) wearing perfume already so couldn't really tell if it was still on by the evening.

Oh yes! I only wear Jo Malone and it last ages - seriously ages in terms of both the bottle and the amount of time the scent lasts.

The candles are pretty good as well Wink

The body lotion lasts longer than the perfume in my experience.

Yes I love them. They last beautifully.

They are lovely - but I don't find they last very long. I wear the body lotion and then the scent on top. It makes the scent last much longer (I was given this tip by a sales assistant in Jo Malone)

I don't think they are worth it, but then I'm not keen on single notes in perfume. I find them too simplistic. Nice enough, but I like a challenge!

Some last, some don't. The citrussy ones are very short-lived.

I imagine Perfume Parlour does dupes? You could try them first. (most PP dupes are incredibly near to the original)

Love them - well worth the cost

I don't think they last at all, unless you layer them with body lotion. I think they were better when they were properly Jo Malone and not Estée Lauder.

I love Jo Malone
Don't forget, the large bottles are 100mls and a lot of other perfumes are 30mls.
Do the price per ml comparison
My all time favourite is Orange Blossom but I have a 'full range' in my bathroom cabinet

I was thinking i'd switch to "Jo Loves".

The body creams are also delightful and do last ages

The scents last forevvvvveeeerrrrr

And they're nauseatingly disgusting. I get migraines and just a whiff can bring one right on.

Please don't do it. Save us sensitive types from death by floral fussiness overload.

Nice scents in that 'from nature school' and nice combinations too but not the most lasting. To some degree that's the current trend for scent to have low sillage etc.

The scent doesn't last long and they test on animals, so no!

No they aren't that long-lasting (apart from
Pomegranate Noir). Expensive but mostly very pleasant. Which are the ones you like? I don't go in for layering them with each other but agree that investing in the matching body lotion does help.

Yes, I love lime, mandarin and basil for day and red roses for night, they are the only perfumes I will buy now.

Didn't know they tested on animals though, off to check that out now.

The only current one that lasts on me is peony and blush suede which is gorgeous. I used to like vanilla and anise but it's been discontinued.

Not a huge fan but have you tried ones from The White Company? I have Blanc and it's lovely, get loads of comments and it lasts ages...

Jo Malones peony and blush was my wedding perfume. It was worth it for me. I recently paid £100 on eBay for a rare discontinued bottle of YSL Tendre Posion as I was so disappointment with what I could find in the department store. I also got a cheap body shop bottle of their new musk in the dark red bottle. I'd love some new perfumes but everything I smelled was rank lol.

I don't think they last well at all.

They do not test on animals nor do they ask others to on their behalf not do they condone it - according to their website so don't know where you got that from.

Also animal testing for the purpose of cosmetics has been banned in the Uk since 1998 and in the EU since 2003!

I didn't know they tested on animals - take back my earlier comment and won't be using again. Thanks 2legit

I like English Pear & Freeshia and also Pomegranate Noir but find that the scent doesn't last very long on either. I also like Stella McCartney perfume and find that lasts ages on me in comparison.

A friend also wears the English Pear and I can never smell it on her unless it has literally just been sprayed.
