So he's an adulterous, racist, abusive arse man who my male family are glued to on Amazon Prime. WIBU to remind them of his shortcomings and to wonder how in the fuck the narcissistic pig presenter persuaded Amazon to back him?

LagunaBubbles Sun 20-Nov-16 18:57:47

He persuaded Amazon to back him because they are going to make a lot of money from the 3 presenters being back together that's why.

RockyBird Sun 20-Nov-16 18:59:22

Hammond bothers me more than JC.

He's such a little arselick who can't even act at feigning surprise.

Costacoffeeplease Sun 20-Nov-16 19:01:21

I'd chop the plug off the tv if anyone started watching that tosser here

thisismeusernameything Sun 20-Nov-16 19:02:32

Nobodies making you watch him. If you don't like him fair enough but don't enforce your points of view on other people.

user1471517900 Sun 20-Nov-16 19:04:56

I'll be honest. Adultery doesn't particularly bother me in a celebrity. The other two are bad as a role model, but..... Top Gear was a massive success because of how good they were at presenting it. As has been shown, it's very difficult to recreate that.

Billoddiesbeard Sun 20-Nov-16 19:04:56

YABU a lot of people enjoy his shows.....if you don't want to watch go in to another room.

Shockers Sun 20-Nov-16 19:06:05

Can't bear the man!

LiviaDrusillaAugusta Sun 20-Nov-16 19:06:19

It's not compulsory to watch, esp as he's now on Netflix rather than the BBC.

How come you have asterisked the word arse in the title and put fuck in full? You can swear in the title too you know..

asdfghjjkl Sun 20-Nov-16 19:08:28

Costacoffeeplease its a good job your dh is obviously a good natured hen pecked person if you can control what he watches on tv, in fact my dil treats my ds like that and we say its time he grew some balls maybe the same should be said of your men folk

Costacoffeeplease Sun 20-Nov-16 19:10:47

No, thankfully he just has more than two brain cells, and has no more interest than the twat than I do

Costacoffeeplease Sun 20-Nov-16 19:11:14

IN the twat!

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom Sun 20-Nov-16 19:13:03

Of course the sun doesn't shine out of his arse, he is, however, very, very good at what he does, regardless of his shortcomings.

treaclesoda Sun 20-Nov-16 19:15:19

He's a pretty unpleasant human being. But he's very good at making TV that people enjoy watching.

It has always been the case that people who aren't very 'nice' have been good at things that people enjoy watching/looking at/listening to.

Sparklingbrook Sun 20-Nov-16 19:16:25

All of our family thoroughly enjoyed the first episode of Grand Tour and it wouldn't have been the same without JC.

He is really good at what he does. And if he's not your thing he is easily avoided.

Costacoffeeplease Sun 20-Nov-16 19:17:06

Thank goodness, he's even easier to avoid now

MauiWest Sun 20-Nov-16 19:17:50

If you don't like him, just ignore. If the majority agrees with you, no one will watch his shows and he will disappear. I don't know him as an individual, I enjoy his shows, I find them very entertaining. It's completely over the top, but that's what tv is all about.

Sparklingbrook Sun 20-Nov-16 19:18:44

Exactly Costa.

alfagirl73 Sun 20-Nov-16 19:20:32

Well I'm female, a full on petrolhead, and I am also GLUED to the Grand Tour on Amazon! The first episode was available on Friday and I've already watched it 3 times!

Amazon didn't need to be "persuaded" either; there were several channels after the trio due to the demand for them and their presence on TV (they brought the Top Gear audience up to over 300 million viewers worldwide!). Amazon got them on several grounds: budget, legal reasons and freedom to do what they want. And it shows.

Much as you don't like Clarkson, there is a reason your family members - along with MILLIONS of viewers GLOBALLY are so excited by the Grand Tour. The fact of the matter is that Top Gear was the biggest, most successful factual show in the world. It became that because of one person - Clarkson. The ideas and concepts developed from him. Hammond & May came into the equation and between them they developed TG into the global success it became - but without Clarkson it would never have happened.

You may not like cars, you may not like Clarkson - that is your prerogative, but millions of us do like him and are able to see beyond tabloid headlines. The new show is exceptional... the opening 5 mins alone were stunning, and for us petrolheads it's an important show.

I'm quite sure there are shows/personalities you enjoy watching that many others cannot stand. There are LOADS of TV shows I have zero interest in and/or cannot stand - I simply don't watch them. I don't begrudge anyone else enjoying them though.

If you don't enjoy it - don't watch it.

PinkSparklyPussyCat Sun 20-Nov-16 19:21:22

I used to love Top Gear (didn't watch it with the new presenters) and I thought Grand Tour was brilliant. As a previous poster said it's quite easy to avoid him if you don't like him.

BoneyBackJefferson Sun 20-Nov-16 19:21:24

I think that before commenting on people's intelligence due too a TV show you should have to post a list of the shows that you watch so that we can judge you back.

(FYI, I don't watch Clarkson, so not offended at that)

Sparklingbrook Sun 20-Nov-16 19:22:11

I loved the opening scenes. It was perfect. smile

BonnieF Sun 20-Nov-16 19:26:04

I can't stand soaps or talent shows, so I don't watch them. Problem solved.

If others don't like Clarkson, perhaps they might consider doing likewise?

ghostyslovesheets Sun 20-Nov-16 19:27:43

i know a bod at the BBC - the guy hit assaulted was seriously hurt, shaken and scared he was going to loose his job.

JC is a nasty little bully boy - maybe one day he will be MP like a nightmarish British Trump

I dislike him hugely and while I did enjoy Top Gear and I have Amazon I wont be fueling his ginormous ego by watching

gettingtherequickly Sun 20-Nov-16 19:29:00

Can't stand him, nor can my car loving DH ESS or YSS. It's not really a car show, it's more an embarrassing TV versions of ladsbible.
