To think this is out of order

Dd is current not allowed to attended her residential college due to sending an email saying she was going to take her own life. Dd said she sent the email because another student sent her a message saying that this member of staff wanted her to die. The Safe guarding lead has told me that I have to consider the rational of the student who sent this message. I personally think both my dd's email and the students message is out of order.

Dd has never said anything to this other student in a nasty way.

Rather than questioning whether college are out of order, what are you doing to support your daughter? Perhaps college feel she is too big a risk to herself?

So do you think that it's wrong that your DD can't attend her college?

Are you able to discuss the Email with her?

Sounds like the college are trying to protect her, they're not the best place to manage self harm or suicidal teens.

If one email can push her to send an email threatening suicide, she doesn't sound in a very good place and needs support. The other student was out of order but I assume the college aren't able to discuss her with you.

They haven't taken any action about this girl. The girl also promotes mental illness as lifestyle choice. Shows fresh self harm goes into detail about her self. Harming told my dd that she couldn't self harm properly.
