DS is 1 1/2, he will be getting a few small presents from us on Christmas morning and a rather large one from DM. Money is tight and DP is paid a few days after Christmas, would it be unreasonable to buy his Christmas present (a play kitchen) then?

YANBU. End of.

He won't even know the difference. So no, yanbu.

No, he will never know the difference (and it will probably be reduced in the sale)

No problem with that at all!

Perfectly all right! Maybe not if he was older, but at 18 months he won't know the difference.

He's 18 months old. He doesn't even understand what Christmas is. When ds1 was three, the only thing he wanted from Santa was a big box of Frosties all to himself... grin

Thank you smile I just know I'll get asked on Christmas Day what presents I gave to him, I didn't know if people would think I was a bit mean to buy them later.

NickyEds Wed 16-Nov-16 09:42:23

Do it. He won't even realise.

Of course not, he won't know the difference and will probably enjoy it more not having everything at once to overwhelm him

If people ask that won't actually be there just tell them you got him a play kitchen.

He won't know I'm due Christmas day and got baby 3 presents and she won't be here but I honestly think 3 is plenty

You don't even need to buy him gifts after. Not if money is tight.
