AIBU?

To think I'm going to regret this in the morning.

First night out since DD was born 9 months ago. She's safely asleep at DM's house.

I'm drunk and I feel like it's going to be bad in the morning. I have to pick DD up at 10. Post boozing I went to Domino's and got a lot of pizza. So at least my stomach is lined.

WIbU to go out and get sloshed? Is that still allowed once you have a baby??

Not if you're planning on driving to collect her at 10 am next morning

I'm not driving, DM lives a few minutes walk away from my house

Go back out now? No fuck that! Fall asleep in a heap and get a good nights sleep.

You will thank me for it tomorrow!

I think your first mistake is admitting you've had a drink and have a baby. That will really get the pearl clutchers out in force.

You'll be fine OP, it's only 11.30 so plenty of time for you to get a decent sleep. Dominos will help plus drink lots of water. Good for you for having a well deserved night out!

Entirely your choice , personally I've never seen the point in getting plastered but each to their own .

Are you asking whether you were being unreasonable to get drunk, or whether you'd be unreasonable to go out now you're drunk?

Lots of water before bed will make a big difference to how you feel in the morning.

I presume this is a 'was I being unreasonable'?!

There will be a long queue of MNrs telling you how awful and irresponsible you are...

Your baby is safe at your mums - it's fine for tonight.

Everyone is entitled to let their hair down on occasion - as long as you aren't making a habit of it with tiny children!

Meh! If your mum lives a few minutes walk away, that means you don't have to get up until about 9.30am.

Of course it's allowed, why wouldn't it be?

Hope you had a great night.

Go for it, just don't really hammer it. No shots, you hear me? And eat some cheese and a couple of paracetamol when you get in.

Mentioned my child to a woman I met this evening and she thought I was a bad mother for not being at home with my ear pressed to the baby monitor.

Should say I havent had a drink since ttc

Stay in, drink water and get some sleep.

Put a glass of water next to your bed.

You'll appreciate it at 4am when you wake up with a mouth like weetabix.

So you're probably hammered on barely anything. That other woman is a twat. Having the occasional night to just be you is HEALTHY!

Of course you're allowed a night out when you become a mummy. Your dd is being well looked after.
Hope you had a great night.

Lordy, you'll have a good hour's sleep more than me (dog has no mercy), and I'm still drinking. Drink something soft before bed. No regrets, now.

Go and down a pint of water.

Then force yourself to have another one.

Take two paracetamol.

And sleep Smile

Enjoy yourself op, fuck the haters.
Your Ds is safe, and she will be perfectly fine with your dm.

Christ alive. Why do women do this to each other? Being a parent is hard enough without being judged, pouring scorn on one another and making someone else feel completely shit about their choices.

OP, you're doing nothing wrong. I'm sure you're a great mother and shouldn't feel guilty about what someone has said to you.

And 'meh' to the baby monitor fancier. You start with that shit an it never ends.

My mates still use one for their 7 year old. Seriously, how bad is people's hearing??

Pint of water now, more in the night if you wake and some fresh orange juice in the morning and you'll be sorted! The naysayers can go to bed clutching their baby monitors.

Ignore the woman you met, she was being a bitch - a night out while baby is at grandma's doesn't impact on whether you are a good mother or not. She was just aiming for a button to push, and getting you to second guess your parenting would be letting her win. Brush it off.

Report
readyforno2 · 12/11/2016 23:53

Shit. She's your Dd. Not Ds. Although in my defence, my phone always autocorrects to Ds
