Why the fuck do you try to sell something with offers and then knock back a price because it isn't what you want?

Why can't you just say how much you want for the item you are selling?! Drives me mad

I've seen. 'anyone giving away double bed? Must have a mattress and no marks'

Then the cheeky fuckers ask if someone can deliver as they have no car.

ThisUsername or '£10 if sold today.'
Is it going to cost the lucky buyer more tomorrow?

"Wanted: free highchair, good condition, suitable for a girl"
"You can have mine, it's beige and white"
"Sorry, want one for a little girl" (aka pink).

When I was pregnant I found a Facebook ad for a load of free baby clothes- it specifically said "free to first person who replies". Got in touch with the person to ask if I could have them, she said yes for £20 Confused

I used to hate the £10 or it goes in the bin thing. Then I tried to get rid of a load of crafts stuff. Probably £100 to £200 worth of stuff. Cross stitch and card making and candle making. I was having a huge clear out and wanted it gone. Advertised it for free and had a load of people messing me around. Not turning up or expecting me to drive it miles away.
I eventually put it up for £10 and a lovely lady asked to have it. She turned up and was amazed by how much stuff there was and offered more. I told her to keep her £10 as I just wanted it gone. She then said thanks and said she was going to do things with her grand daughter.
We have given away things for free since but always have people asking for delivery even when we state no delivery.

I put up 2 dvds in a small box set on my local FB site for £5 last week. Had some bloke msg me directly and ask if he gave me the full £5 would I post. Er no as surely if you want something posted and the ad says buyer to collect, you stump up the postage cost. People are cheeky.

The number of people who ask for delivery when you're giving away something for free astounds me.

And when it works the other way...

I was selling our Disney on ice tickets, which were great seats, for the exact price I paid for them. All the good seats had sold out so I knew I'd get what I was asking for. I put them up for sale with the price and along come those offering £xxx like nearly £100 less then I paid for them. Then even when I say, sold subject to collection, they say 'let me know if they don't turn up and I'll give you what I've offered' 😡 I hate selling online so generally charity shop things.

We get things like "sofa and bed for sale, pm for photos and price"

Why the secrecy?!

At least they are selling stuff. Every other post is some pyramid scheme or joke ad these days.
