To want to clap when the neighbour's vibrator turns off...

My neighbours are noisy, I've heard their shouting matches, their tv, their DIY and now another kind of DIY.

The man went out and a few minutes later music went on and a buzzing noise has been going on for about ten mins.

WIBU to clap when it is over? Haha.

So as not to dripfeed - we don't speak to them. They are noisy and foul. They argued every night for the first couple of months and recently hammer every night sometimes at 11pm. The other residents told us that the people who sold us the house moved because of them. Grr.

Anyway - tell me about your neighbours. smile

We are surrounded by trees. Our neighbour's hate trees & the mess they male come autumn. They've called in the council to see if it was possible to get them cut down.

This year I saw the husband with a brush & pan sweeping up fallen leaves on their back lawn. I felt so sorry for him. To get this upset over nature.

*make.

OP is there nothing in the contract re having no problem neighbours? You might have a case for recourse.

Not saying anymore than this but poison pen letters. angry

I've just realised from your post OP - there has been a weird buzzing sound through the night recently and I can only hear it from my bedroom, I thought it was the boiler or radiators as we've just started putting the heating on for winter..
SO THAT'S WHAT IT COULD BE!! confusedgrin

I have a breast pump that I'm confident my neighbours think is a vibrator blush

WanderingTrolley1 Thu 10-Nov-16 15:09:01

How do you know it's a vibrator, OP?!

JeremyPaxmansPerspexHead Thu 10-Nov-16 15:09:38

Couldn't be her electric toothbrush, could it?? grin

I ask because every night when I trawl through my dental hygiene routine I cringe wondering what the neighbours must think. The waterpik buzzes for a while and then the electric toothbrush hums into action.

I'd rather them think of me as a committed wanker than have a manky gob blush

Wandering... I used to have one!!!!

I used to live in an old terrace house (very thin walls) and every night I could hear the neighbours ahem, knocking boots LOUDLY. Headboard banging, groans, grunts the lot! It was like a terrible porn movie confused

I think the same every time I turn my electric razor on or OH uses his beard trimmer, they are both fairly loud and the walls are paper thin here. I am slightly concerned our neighbours think we are frequent wankers grin

OP, you have my sympathies, my old neighbours were EXACTLY like this! The arguing was at epic levels, the make up sex was loud and they spent every single day drilling and doing noisy DIY for about 6 months (including frikking sundays from 8am) . The final insult was the cheek of the twatty noisy bastard shouty husband to moan at us on the day we moved out, with very little notice, about us using a drill once for 5 mins to remove the shelving units from an adjoining wall at 7 pm because his baby DC was asleep. Needless to say, I told him where to shove it.

Sympathies OP. We are in a terrace and one side are lovely but we can hear them going at it as their bed is against the same wall as ours.
Other neighbour is a different story. Single, middle aged and reclusive. He has been renovating his house now for almost two years and, while the noise isn't nearly as bad as it was at the beginning, we do have the odd evening of DIY against the party wall.

The three houses also share a water inlet pipe and I'm sure one of the neighbours likes to piss us off by running a tap every time we start the shower/run a bath. It happens almost every single time!

You could have handels messiah the hallelujah chorus playing when she finishes whatever she's doing. Every time.

Why are there two threads for this?

Epilator!!!
I do my epilating Sunday morning when DH and DSs are at the gym.
I do it in the bedroom with the window open in summer and the curtains closedblush
