I'm sat on my hands today distracting myself as two days in a row now I've been tempted. It's not even mid November!

We usually put them up first week of December, so Im determined not to cave. But come on, fess up if you already have them up!

There were people on a facebook group I am in posting pics of their trees being up last week.

Crazy.

Don't do it!

I really want to listen to Christmas music but I am making myself wait until at least Dec 1st.

Don't do it, its nowhere near Christmas! Mine will be going up probably the weekend of the 12th Dec, that's two weeks before and is plenty.

Mine will go up first weekend in December.

Otherwise it will just piss me off looking at them for over a month

I feel your pain! We bought some new Christmas decs at the weekend and I keep looking longingly at them shoved away in the spare bedroom Blush

The last 2 Christmases we've put ours up on the last weekend in November. We'll probably do the same this year Smile

Do what you want, it's not hurting anyone, but there's no way I'd out mine up this early.

For me, putting the tree up is a way of getting really in to the Christmas spirit, Christmas is still so far away - over 6 weeks away - so it just doesn't seem right as I don't feel Christmassy at all. First weekend in December is the earliest I'd do it.

I love Christmas time..I honestly can't wait for the buzz. Annoying long lines at the shops but I just love it. Everyone is all festive and happy. I love choosing gifts and giving. I tried listening to Christmas music though and it just didn't feel right yet. I'm hoping give it another 2 weeks and everyone will be happier. Wait for the John Lewis advert then everyone will be Xmas crazy. I do think 2 weeks before is just too close to Christmas and a waste of money. But then I don't spend Xmas at my place so really I'd only be benefiting for about a week. I plan to do it close to the beginning of Dec

I put mine up the very last day in November so they're all ready for the 1st of December. I love Christmas, am a total but but last day of November is the very earliest I would do it. I'd love to put them up bow but IMO I put them up quite early anyway and to do it now would be waayy to soon

Some people put them up early for sad reasons, or because they can't celebrate at Christmas and want to see the trim before hand.
I quite understand this and wouldn't judge.

However, decorations up before the 18th to me spoils Christmas.
It's each to their own though.
I love decs and xmas, it gets boring if you start too soon.

Don't do it, it'll get dusty before Christmas and pain to clean around it all.

Some people have them up all year round. In fact I saw a programme once and the guy celebrated xmas every single day Confused

I would say try and hold off until Dec 1st if you can!

I once visited a house as part of my job, it was mid March and the tree (complete with decorations) had been 'hidden' behind the tv. I think it probably stayed there until December when they lifted it out and hey presto the room is festive and ready for the Christmas season again Grin

Didn't put them up! I start to feel claustrophobic by them all so I'd not cope with 2 months worth. Decided on 4th of December. :)

Durham - maybe they were closet xmas fans and did celebrate all year?!
