AIBU?

To find 'break a leg' on EP on Sunday the most cringeworthy thing ever?

Just that really. Listen because I love the music. I find Elaine calling herself EP and her laugh embarrassing enough. But during the break a leg section I'm
Literally cringing on behalf of the people who have called in. Clearly they aren't embarresed.

I would say I'm as far from a luvvie actor type as you can get though.

It's dreadful. Today's Mr Bennett was particularly excruciating

Especially when the people making the phone calls put on an accent from the shows ie.from 'Oklahoma' 'Howdee Elaine'....I am cringing for them... today was also cringeworthy with EP wishing her ex Tim Rice ' a very happy birthday'......bet he was listening...not !

I love her and 'break a leg' for its cheesiness Grin Although I do love a bit of 'jazz hands' and come from a theatrical background, so maybe that's why!

It can dramatically increase your audience numbers as a amateur musical theatre group being featured on 'break a leg'. Extra 20% ticket sales for our group.

I love musicals (I'm watching the Sound of Music as I type this)
I love Radio 2.
I HATE Elaine Paige on Sunday. It's the one show I actively turn off (I re-listen to Pick of the Pops if I have to be in the kitchen on a Sunday between 1 and 3).

I hate her laugh and the fact that no one in any musical ever is anywhere near as good as she thinks she is.

YANBU. I instantly turn radio over when I hear her voice, shudders.

I like Elaine Paige on a Sunday as I love a musical, but agree that her laugh is weird and the Break a Leg slots are often cringey! However, my pet hate on R2 on Sundays is Sunday Love Songs - slushfest or what? When we're in the car and it's on, DH always wonders aloud why people need to send in requests to Steve Wright so that he can tell someone that their partner loves them - why don't they just tell their DH/DW/DP/the dog themselves.....??

I hate musicals and dislike Elaine Paige so I switch off when she comes on after the lovely Michael Ball. He has an infectious laugh, but hers is just irritating.
