AIBU?

'Does what it says on the tin' - or not!

When you go to a 'fast food' drive through but you end up sitting in the car park waiting for 10 minutes. Not so 'fast food' then.

Or when M&S say their school shirts are 'ultimate non-iron' but somehow everyday they're still creased to hell (even after being in dryer) - therefore obviously not 'non-iron'.

AIBU to be annoyed at these blatant lies??!

Anyone else have any examples of when it 'doesn't do what it says on the tin'? Grin

Sharing bags of chocolate. They even put a sticky tab on, as if they'll be leftovers

Packs of ham and corned beef with the 'PEEL HERE' corners that are hermetically sealed with a dab of every type of glue known to man. Bring on the scissors.

Oh yes Mary. Those stick tabs are never used in our house either!

Colour run sachets to correct your washing when you've accidentally washed your whites with your red knickers and everything's gone pink. Useless.

Bumble and Bumble curl shaping creme: transforms your waves to ringlets and creates perfectly defined curls.

I looked like I'd slept under a hedge and someone at work asked if "everything was ok?" when I turned up with my birds nest defined curls. Sad

It was £23 as well!

Anything labelled as 'easy open' - it's a lie.

The 'Catherine wheel' in the box of garden fireworks. Fix to a pole and marvel as it spins round in a shower of golden spray.

It never goes round and spits out odd sparks for about an hour so nobody can go near it, before dying or falling off the pole.

Hedrin Once nit lotion - 'easy to wash out'. Yeah, right. I used half a bottle of shampoo, and when that didn't work, resorted to Fairy liquid. Three days later and DS still looked as though he'd dipped his head in a deep fat fryer.

Dulux 'once' emulsion. I have one word for you Dulux, twice.

The 'peel and reseal' tabs on bags of pasta/rice etc. first, the bag always rips right down the side so the pasta needs to be decanted into a tub, secondly if this hasn't happened and you succeed in using the tab, it magically pops itself open between putting it in the cupboard and taking it out for the next use...

ILostIt that bumble and bumble creme is the only thing that works on my curls!

Agree on the Dulux once.

'Severing suggestions', especially on cake. Unless I'm hosting Kate Moss and Casper the fucking Ghost, there's no chance in hell this cake will serve 'up to 8 people'.

Nice 'n' Easy hair colour.
Easy to dye the whole bathroom with un-noticed drips.

Washable paint is not washable.

...Which leads me to one of my most common rants - Vanish, all varieties. That advert where they mix it to a paste and rub it on the stain which then magically disappears in the wash? It doesn't even dissolve to make a 'paste' for starters... I've got a fancy-ish new-ish washing machine, soak things etc, but no, multiple school shirts remain stained forever more.

And still I buy the sodding stuff. Christ knows why!

Ah yes, I've ruined many bath mats with Nice n Easy. I think they should also have a disclaimer under the picture of the model; Your hair will not come out this colour.

Grin at severing suggestions.

The plastic film that you are meant to peel off in one go before putting a ready meal in the oven...really?
The wrappers on certain cheeses like stilton that is hermetically sealed on, so that it is impossible to remove without hacking right into the cheese.
And another vote for YSL Touche Eclat here...

Anything with the word 'fashionable' on it isn't usually fashionable.

That's so true about non-iron shirts.

Aldi's fake lurpack which states spreadable on the carton.
If it has to say spreadable it isn't spreadable.
