There's only one possibility, surely? It's a Hallowe'en tradition (well it is in some places) and there's zero justification for bothering anyone on any other night.

None of them. But he's going to a party on Saturday.

Halloween night.

I refuse to take ours out but I will expect callers on Monday.
There isn't an alternative night.

IMissGrannyW · 27/10/2016 23:25

What Sheezus said.

Except... It's not our bloody tradition. So why is it suddenly so bloody important!!!! And can I just chuck in "grabby"

I do, however, have sweets in to dole out. ON MONDAY.

I've never even heard any night other than 31st October mentioned anywhere except on MN. It's only ever Halloween night regardless of which day of the week it falls

To answer the OP, you do Halloween on 31st October, no other date. However, parties can be held on any convenient nearby day.

Depending on where you live, it IS a tradition.
Guising in Scotland has gone on for generations. I never realised it wasn't done elsewhere when I was a child.Confused

Blimey, we do lots of things for fun that aren't traditional.

We have kids here knocking on the door up to a week before Halloween. A lot of them teenagers trying their luck. No sweets here before Halloween night. My DS won't be T&T because he's too young but I'll put a pumpkin on the doorstep and he'll enjoy handing out sweets on Monday.

Monday! We will be decorating at the weekend so that we are ready for Monday but I'm not expecting any ToTers until Monday.

Depends where you live. In Kilmarnock. I'm sure it's the Friday ir Saturday. Can't think which. Nearest to the 31st.

Chicklette · 27/10/2016 23:37

Yup, I'm Scottish so a 'guiser' but didn't know if anyone would know what that was. Good to know that Monday is the night. Thanks. Only problem is that I'll almost certainly have eaten all the fun sized sweets by then!!

helensburgh, if any guisers chap my door before Monday teatime, they'll be getting short shrift.
Chicklette, I've hidden the Halloween sweets from DH in so many places that I may not find them all by Monday. Grin

Monday, apart from in Kilmarnock, in which case it's the Friday before. Anyone coming to our door on any evening apart from Monday will be disappointed.

So I Googled Kilmarnock Halloween and uniquely they celebrate Halloween on the last Friday of October there.
You learn something new every day, eh? Halloween Shock
