To feel like this about shopping

So I have two small boys and work ft and so don't really ever "browse" I shops any more. Grocery gets delivered, we have Amazon prime, order Most clothes online etc. I really really miss having a leisurely browse in the shops and very rarely get then chance to do it ever.

Today by some miracle I had a couple of hours to myself in a lovely local shopping neighbourhood so I thought I'd make a start on Xmas shopping. And I think because I don't go shopping anymore I've just got really really bad at it.

I went to buy some Xmas napkins, and I was just so overwhelmed by the choice of napkins and so worried about buying the wrong ones that I left the shop without buying any. I went into a bookshop thinking I'd be bound to find something for my sister and couldn't decide on anything. Ditto Xmas cards, there were so many but none seemed quite right...?? I just felt paralysed by all the choice! Aibu? Do not need more shopping g practice? Does anyone else get this?

Yanbu - I feel the same about too much choice, but at least it's not the USA - I was overwhelemed there.

I'm exactly the same. I never was a great shopper and now I'm so out of practice, I can't cope with shops at all.

I feel like this on sainsburys after doing my shopping at lidl for the last few months. Not only overwhelmed by choice, but also the price, the BOGOF and deals, and the sheer quantity of stuff.

I find them suddenly so much more stressful. It's odd. Can you go with a friend for practice? Also if I have something in particular to find I never seem to find it. Time pressures don't help either.

Lists are good but only so I can keep track of what I need for who and what I've got for who. Esp at Christmas.

Try to relax. Browse a bit. And try to enjoy your kid free time. Doesn't matter if you go away empty handed. You just saved money!

I feel the opposite. Shopping on the high street gives so much less choice than online. If you go out for something and it's out of stock, then you have to drive to another place to find it. Online I can just look by category and put in a budget, then get endless choices. It's great!

Oh I'm the opposite I hate shopping with a passion! If it can't be bought online or at an occasional show/festive market during off peak hours it doesn't get bought. I'm hopeless, DH has offered for many birthdays to take me shopping for whatever I want and is greeted by paralysed horror (think deer caught in headlights) and handed a few pics of things on Amazon

Well, I do possess Aldi boxers - but not wearing them today.
Also, pleased to report jeans are upmaket - ie Tesco.
