Being Halloween soon and all - I will start. My nana used to live with us before she died and her room was always knows as "nana's room" after she died the room was changed into a storage room. DD who was only 1 when my nan died (now nearly 3) came downstairs to say "who is that lady upstairs in the spare room" I asked what she meant and she said the one sitting on the bed. There is no bed in the spare room now. It took me several weeks to pluck up the courage to go into that room!

What are your experiences? 😱😱😱😱

18 months-ish, middle of the night, staying over at a relative's house. "Mummy looooook! Is man! Is man there! Hello man, hello!" Followed by waving and giggling at empty doorway.

Ds2 went through a phase when he was about 3 of waking in the night.

When I asked him why, he would tell me that the man was waking him up. It was a man dressed head to toe in orange, who also carried balloons. He had a saw with him and would saw away at the supports on the bunk beds (ds2 has the bottom bunk) so that the top bunk would drop on him and squash him. It was the sound of the saw that ds2 said was waking him up.

His descriptions of the orange man were just so real and vivid that he would really freak me out.

DD2 @ 3 years a couple of months after my Grandad died. My mum said to my Nana "mam do you know where dad put the metal tape measure?" DD2 said "grandad says its In the white basket on the shelf in the hall cupboard"

Guess where mam found the tape measure?

When DS was tiny, he seemed to read my mind and say exactly what I was thinking. Freaked me out!

When my dd1 was about 5 she told me that before she was born, that she chose me to be her mummy. And that there was another mummy that she could have gone to but she didn't have room for her.

There were lots of other similar things she came out with, and it was more the way she said it, really serious and deadpan.

Dd2 often tells me what I am thinking seconds after I think it. For example she did it several times the other day. I thought about nipping to the shops in the car and she looked up from what she was doing, and said "we going in car mummy?" She does this all the time it totally freaks me out!

DS used to go on about 'the child', he would always point to the same corner of the room by the ceiling and say that the child was watching him. That was a bit freaky.

DS (2.5) had croup last week so his voice during the night became this deep, hoarse rasp and which was rather spookily reminiscent of horror film demon. Feeling v sorry for him I breastfed him back to sleep and dozed off myself, only to be woken up by him suddenly rearing up to standing in the darkness and demonically growling 'The Other Side'.
I also get told various times a day that he's going to cut me into little pieces whilst brandishing toy saws, cutlery, pliers. And apparently he wants to pull my eyes out too.

When my youngest was sat with me watching tv she started waving at the patio doors. There was nobody there. She told me she was waving at her mum hanging the washing out.

DS 2 waved at a "man" in one of the bedrooms in our holiday cottage and said "man in there". When we got the photos developed he pointed at the same room and said "oh yeah man in there"!! Needless to say, at no point was there ever a man in the room while we were there!!

When my eldest was about 2 and we lived in our old house she used to freak me out by staring at the stairs or telling me she could hear/see someone on the stairs. I don't for a minute think she did and I love all things woo but still used to freak me out!

When my son was three we moved into a new house. We drove home after going shopping and I said "oh look sweetie we're back at our new house". He said this isn't your house mummy, this is the lady's house. I asked, what lady? He said, the lady in my bedroom.

At around the same time he asked me if my daddy was dead (he was). I asked him who told him that and he said that my dad did. He said that my daddy was in heaven in Ireland, which is where my dad was from. My dad died when I was 13 and I had never mentioned him to my son as he calls my step dad grandad and at that time I didn't want to confuse him.

As soon as Dd (nearly 3 now) started talking she went on about a little boy in her bedroom. The better she got at talking the more creeped out I got.

She said he was crying, he was wet because he had been in the pond and he was sometimes scary.

I just agreed with her and tried not to encourage it and she eventually stopped talking about him.

Another time she mentioned her other mummy and I was gutted thinking she meant her dad's gf but when I asked who her other mummy was she said 'the lady who lives in the wall and comes out at night'. I was so relieved that she didn't mean her dad's gf and that we just had a creepy wall lady!

Did had a very high temperature once. Think she was as old as 6 or 7. She got into bed with me and DH slept in her room. I sat up watching her toss and turn most of the night and I had the tv on just for a small bit of light really. She was mostly semi conscious and taking tiny sips of water then drifting off again, when she asked me from a laying position where daddy was.

I told her he was sleeping in her bed and everything was fine. She sat bolt upright, turned to face me and said, 'no! I'm daddy!' Eeeekkk!

Scared the shit out of me! Grinmoments later, her temperature finally dropped and there wasn't even a hint of an illness about her!

My just-turned 4 year old told me a week after moving to our new house that a little boy named Oliver lived in her bedroom and had died in a fire a long time ago.
I couldn't see him, and he only came at night time.
She did have a very active imagination though.

A few days after DF died, DS (then 2 1/2) said , "Papa said he's going in the oven"

He hadn't seen his Papa for a while so it wasn't about a previous conversation they'd had together. DF was indeed being cremated and it just sounded like the type of thing he'd say to be funny

Once we went for a walk in a massive open countryside field with cliffs overhead (in a foriegn country on holiday) DS5 started crying... when asked why? He said he saw a giant on a cliff with one squished eye..! Never usually makes stories up. He cried for ages when we got home...and he's isnt usually a crybaby.

Not exactly said to me but a bit odd i remember when my daughter was about about 18 months it was late at night and she was in her bedroom in her cot.I was woken by babbling she was acting as if someone was in the room.Like she was conversing with someone she was laughing in response.

It was weird but my other half and i joke to this day my father paid her a visit he loved making children laugh

My eldest hasn't been one for saying anything creepy, but he did have the habit of lurking in doorways in the half dark. He'd stand totally still and it used to creep me out.
My youngest was slow to get started talking and at 2 1/2 still mangles words. Such as "Ook, Mummy, vodka man!"
He kept repeating vodka man oven and over, and I got a little spooked, wondering what he was seeing that I wasn't.
Then I realised he was holding his Marshal Paw Patrol toy. Vodka man was actually a very mangled "water cannon". Blush
My DH and I are now trying to decide if Vodka Man is a daft super hero or something more sinister!

Ds1 aged about 3.5. 'mummy I like our new garden but I don't like the lady' Shock I knew our house was lived in by am old lady before. This sentiment was repeated by ds1 many times over the next few weeks. Until we found the small statue of a lady tucked away and only visible at 3 year old boy height...it went in the bin probably an antique

Snuggling in at bedtime with dgd, 4, I'm falling asleep and hear her repeating in a menacing tone "You don't know who I am! You don't know who I am! You don't know who I am! You have no idea who I am!'
Wide awake again, I asked her but she would only say her name began with a certain letter. I made a couple of guesses then told her firmly she was my little granddaughter and it was time to go to sleep. She smirked at me but settled down. :)

I let DS1 and DS2 watch the original Village of the Damned when they were about 10. I remembered it and thought it wasn't that bad, and they weren't scared by it. All was well, or so I thought. Weeks later, they started staying stuff together in unison in a very creepy fake nice sort of way. And then the final straw was when I was off to a conference and DS said "I don't think you'll be going to London!"

Little fuckers taunted me for weeks. Clearly I have raised future evil geniuses. DS2 might be a demon as well, as when he was about 4 he used to say things like "YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I CAN DO!" and "YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO I AM!" in a weird voice when he wasn't getting his own way Grin

Ooooh love this thread! My DD is just 2 but very talkative. The other week I wrapped a blanket around her shoulders and she said "Like an old lady! I used to be an old lady..". I asked what her name used to be and she said "Mummy.".....so I was a bit freaked out but asked how many children she had and she said "Lots... boys and girls..."...but she wouldn't answer any more questions so I dropped it.
